Best Single Player Experience In The Last 12 Months

Definitely one of the best single player games I have played in a long time.
Recently it has been so easy to get drawn into a familiar series such as Call of Duty or Gears of War, simply waiting a year or two for the next instalment.
Alice's story is incredibly deep and disturbing, in a way that has inspired me to think about the tale of Alice in a whole new light. Given today’s obsession with darker grittier films and games, Alice will most definitely not disappoint.
I'm afraid I cant comment on some of the issues presented by certain critics as the issues that seemed to bother them were not present in my two runs through the game (like invisible walls, sure if you try to float out of the map then you'll eventually hit a wall, but you'd die from the fall anyway so there’s no surprise there).
To get the most out of this game I would definitely recommend playing it on its harder difficulties first.
It also helps if you ever liked the original story of Alice, if you’re looking for a logical game that conforms closely to the laws of reality I wouldn’t recommend this as its Wonderland at its best. Also given the nature of the game and its story line, this is most definitely not a children’s game.
So go ahead and give it a go, you have nothing to lose from renting it and I would be very surprised if you could really say that this game was not an enjoyable experience.- Was this review helpful to you?

However it is not 5-star to me as some of the battles are just so tough... I already set it on EASY just want to enjoy the fun of the game and the story however the battles are very distracting for me... Otherwise, all very impressive!- Was this review helpful to you?

By tishytish (9 reviews) from watford , 04 Nov 2012i remember playing the very first Alice on the PC as soon i heard it was coming out for Xbox i couldn't wait to give it ago the graphics on the game are amazing the game play is great fun if u love beating things up then this is the game for u . the story line is very good :) this is gonna be like a lot of games where u are gonna have people that are gonna love it or hate it and i really loved its a very enjoyable game .- Was this review helpful to you?

Creative but boring

It's freaky and a bit twisted, the world is very creative and the creatures you encounter are delightfully evil but it just gets repetitive and slow. Bored after 30 minutes if I'm honest.- Was this review helpful to you?

Dark twisted surreal and hard!! Brilliant game.

Don't be fooled that its a kids game..there are a couple of scenes which really aren't for kids e. g. the drunken sailors slurring f..king C U Next Tuesday as you walk past would be one example..which though its not out of place, as Alice flicks between fantasy and reality, the bad language wasn't really required to show the miserable seediness of her reality.
The gameplay and logistics of getting to your destination in each scene is challenging with some REALLY tough battles..its not just the Boss battles that are hard.. My one criticism is that every now and again they throw in a puzzle ..like a sliding piece floor puzzle which is so simple in comparison to the rest of the game that it jars...they shouldn't have bothered. The graphics however are amazeballs, I am in awe.
