Army Life in your Living Room
By a customer from Sussex, England , 02 Apr 2006[Highly rated reviewer]
Americas Army originated from a PC game which you can download for free. The PC version is a purely multiplayer game played online, whereas the console version have single player missions as well.
The console version has a even more comprehensive training then the PC version. There is a greater emphasis on teamwork, whereby you are part of a fireteam and you have be in the right position to cover. The firing of the weapon is more realistic where you have to squeeze the trigger to be more accurate rather then just pulling on it. As if it wasn't hard enough using a joypad instead of a mouse.
Graphic wise its not as good as other firstperson shooters. Some character animations looked a bit wooden like the movement, however sighting through the gun sights is quite authentic and the sounds gives enough realism to get you involve in the game.- Was this review helpful to you?

Not as good as I hoped
By biker1559 (37 reviews) from Weymouth , 11 Apr 2008Having played this on the PC I thought that playing it on Xbox would have been an improvement but it wasn't. I think if they every upgrade it for the Xbox 360 it might help as the graphics were loooking a bit dated compared to todays games.- Was this review helpful to you?

US Soldier:3rd Rate Shooter
By raptor1217 (202 reviews) from Wednesbury , 14 Feb 2007Enjoying Brothers in Arms and Full Spectrum Warrior, seeing this is based on training simulation for the US army I gave it a go. I hope their not using this. The graphics first are bad, no where close it its US Marine rival First to Fight game. This does affect the 'realism' supposed to be portrayed. The AI is bad, your team mates don't move accordind to your postion or the enemies. Mission are tedious, if you move just a bit away from your team or lag bahind easy to do as your team leader moves away while your shooting and don't see it the mission fails. The enemy are better shots that four US soldiers with machine guns. This just recks of rushed gaming and poor thought. First to Fight was better, both in gameplay, graphics etc. Get that, or the even better Brother in Arms or Full Spectrum Warrior.- Was this review helpful to you?
