What do you get the master assassin who has everything? Weve been following the story of Ezio Auditore for two games now in Assassins Creed II and Assassins Creed: Brotherhood - watching the Italian stallions journey from birth to adulthood. But Ubisoft Montreal is proving that there are still a lot of things for our now aged and wise Ezio to achieve. Assassins Creed: Revelations allows the Renaissance hero to find the last pieces of the Apple of Eden jigsaw puzzle and solve the mystery that has haunted him for years. He does so by traveling back to where the struggle between Templars and Assassins began - Constantinople, during the rise of the Ottoman Empire. As well as the usual weapons at Ezios disposal, you get to play with a new toy called the Hookblade. It can be used to grab and chuck enemies around and line them up for some spectacular assassinations - but it goes far beyond combat. Rooftops are now littered with zip lines that can allow Ezio to sling himself down at high speed (with the added bonus of assassination from above). You can now create your own bombs in Assassins Creed: Revelations too, with black markets in the city selling ingredients for you to mix in various bomb shops to build the explosive for whatever situation you want. While the last Assassins Creed game introduced the Brotherhood (which makes a return in Revelations), the big new concept here is the Dens. Dens are hotly-contested areas in which you have the option (or in some missions, requirement) to attack to gain some ground against the war with the Templars and Byzantines. As well as attacking and taking dens, you'll be charged with defending them. These missions see your own areas get challenged by enemy forces. This is probably the biggest change to the Assassins Creed formula - tower defence gameplay from the third-person viewpoint of Ezio, the Den commander! In short, there's plenty of Assassin's Creed: Revelations - both familiar and unfamiliar - to sink your blade into.

Where did it all go wrong ?

Firstly I want to say I really enjoyed playing this game but... it is but a shadow of the previous games and it seems to me 2 steps forward 3 steps back. The fighting has been marginally improved but Brotherhood was not that different. No horses , no traveling , the city cannot be even a fifth of the normal size in previous games. The whole game was broken up in a very stilted manor and to say that this game answers all the questions is a far stretch. Certainly if you are fan of assassin creed in general then rent this but expect in the next few months a tonne of DLC to come out as the number of missing bits , holes in the story and potential add-ons is huge not because of the potential but because of what is missing. When i had played 4 hours of the game it had a rating of 5 stars , but now i have finished the game I am sorry to say it scraps in at 3 stars.

Same gameplay, different location

If you have played AC2 or brotherhood, you know what you are going to get. You play as the same characters (desmond and EAdF) just in a different location with a few new additions to the game mechanics (the tower defence bit is absolutely horrendous). The plot of the AC games has become so convoluted and stretched now that missing this entry won't damage your understanding of the story as a whole.

This game has very pleasing graphics, exceptional game play with fluid controls.

Bad points are that the game is to short and the game focused too much onto the on line game play rather than the single player story mode.

normal game was ok to much time spent on the story multiplayer mode a little boring just walk around tryin to find other players isnt very exciting

i would rent it again but i got bored of it fast so rent this goddamn epic game!!! (try the other ACs)

Its worth playing

I rented this and it carries the story on very well. If you have played the other titles you feel it moves the story on very well but i do feel they have used up the Italian part of the story so i am glad the story is evolving which will keep the interest up.

The backdrop is top notch and they have caught the feel of the time.
