Simply Brilliant!
By WarWolf (1 review) , 20 Mar 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
First of all this game is Amazing! Whoever wrote Birds of old custard hasnt got a clue what their talking about. This flight SIMULATOR is by far the best one to grace any console ever.
With over 100 accurately recreated ww2 fighter planes and Bombers most of which have the inside plane view and massive enviroments to fly arround in what more could you ask for?
Ive been an Avid player of IL2 Sturmovic Birds of Prey for the last three years which was the best simulator before this arrived and this is basically the Sequal, Birds of Steel takes the next leap in a console simulator allowing you to control small aspects of flying your plane and keeping it in the air like controlling your supercharger, Radiator or fuel mixture. you can plug in a keyboard and mouse to help use these controls. Admittidly it takes some getting used to especially in simulator setting. There are settings for the begginer too but if you put some time into learning to play this game it will definitly pay off.
Over all this game is Simply Brilliant and if your intrested in WW2 planes and enjoy flight sims this is a must. Birds of Steel definitly fly's High!!- Was this review helpful to you?

(6)Are Any flight sims good on consoles?
By Sanguinarius (5 reviews) , 09 Oct 2012Not a good flight sim could be that games console controllers or at least how this sim allocates the functions to the controller leave a hell of a lot to be desired, the fact the throttle shuts down to 50% every time you want to look around you is a major problem for a war sim, you don't want to suddenly loose power in a battle situation. I have flown far better sims on PC.- Was this review helpful to you?

Blazing Angels 2 Secret Missions of World War II

Not Afterburner :-)
By a customer from Pearl Habour, England , 08 May 2012I've tried a number of flight sims recently after a long time of avoidance, historicly the've always been the poor man of console games. Birds of Steel raises the bar considerably.
Visualy its gorgeous, nice enviroments with smooth, non glitchy graphics even when flying at tree top level.
The only things i didnt like were some of the missions are in several parts and if you fail the last you gotta start all over again. The default controls dont feal natural (F1 is bombs F2 is guns, contrary to most other games) a little frustrating when you hit the wrong button in your Mitsubishi one bomb plane. prbly can change that in options though.
This is the best flight sim i've tried so far just dont expect to jump in and start blowing sheet up,its not for kids, do the tutorials first (do the spin recovery one several times !!)
Chocks away Flight Lieutenant- Was this review helpful to you?
