(61)solid squad based shooter
By omgcheese (2 reviews) , 05 Nov 2011this game was an enjoyable two evenings, the ganeplay is interesting and makes you think about the best way to approach the situation and the cover based shooting is spaced between a few tank missions where you get to blow the f*ck out of everything.
the game is enjoyable all the way through with a plot that it is actually quite detailed and thought provoking at time, of course if your not interested in that you can skip through them and still have a good idea of whats going on- Was this review helpful to you?

Great presentation, poor AI
By mufc_duffman (5 reviews) from Manchester , 19 Jul 2011Good but so frustrating, enemy and friendly AI affects the flanking system so badly, the whole USP of the game. When you move friendly units to cover they will run across gun fire to get there, killing themselves in the process. Other than that you have texture pop in and repetitive gameplay. It's a good game overall, playable and functional, it's almost a lost episode of HBO's band of brothers in it's presentation. Definitely worth a rental, but be warned, it's extremely frustrating.- Was this review helpful to you?

A nice shooter to chill on
By Sprouts (8 reviews) , 17 Jul 2011Well as I'm writing this I'm trying not to compare it to Call of duty, but its pretty similar,I did like the cover system in this game,I think i only had 1 moment of RAGE With it.
The story I found, was just so dry,I barely related to any of the characters.(This is WW2 so making the player feel drawn to its story is critical) I should have felt a range of feelings for it but my god i was close to sleeping at times because of the bland voice acting.
Shooter wise it's marmite The good: guns feels realistic at times, aiming feels smooth and headshots are rewarding with the slow mo cam
The Bad: Your health is not taken by the bullets your 'body' takes but by how much the enemy shoot your TV,the firefights take to long(I'm a long time player of FPS so I know when I miss or hit) basically when your crosshair is lined up over the enemy, you can shoot and....... Nothing,no flinch not even an ouch! It's not hit detection as such, but it's like the gun suddenly becomes inaccurate-using a M1 garand takes between 2-6 bullets depending on how long you sit and wait for those crosshairs to relax
Summary: I would play this if you want to just chill out and shoot, but if your a realism based person the firefight engagements might annoy you with the bullets missing at times. Story wise it's no Shakespeare,a worthy rental but not purchase.- Was this review helpful to you?

a real change from call of duty
By Minty8 (196 reviews) from Randalstown, Antrim , 28 May 2011Was good to play a war game so different from COD or MOH. Seemed more like a war game should be at times, stand offs looking for a way to get the right angle etc on the enemy. Can't wait for another game- Was this review helpful to you?

Stunning game
By XelaLleb (5 reviews) , 11 Apr 2011During my playthrough of Hells Highway I felt like I was watching an episode of Band of Brothers because of the story line to this game was amazing!
I love the combat system, Commanding your sqaud memberd to suppress and flank the nazi scum!
The graphics are average, There are some bland textures but the characters models are pretty decent.
Only problem I had with the game is that the controls are abit trickey to get the hang of. The layout isn't like CoD where it's simple.
Some people may love this game or some may hate it but I do recommand this! It's epic.
