Most helpful review
superb both online and offlineBy Sean Carriere from edinburgh , 07 Feb 2007
[Highly rated reviewer]I have to say that I am a big fan of the 'COD' series; but then who is not?. Gameplay is brilliant and if you play on the veteran skill: it will really pull you in. This is not by any means an easy game, but has a way to keep you going back for more and more. One of the enhanced features (which i thought gave the axis an advantage in COD2) is the ability to pick up a granade thrown at you and quickly return it. Dont be tempted to play this on an easy level,Play it on ' veteran' mode :it makes a better game. And then, if you are an achievement orientated person, go back and get these on an easy skill level. So, you have finished the game, what do you do next? you go online!. just when you think this game could not get any better, it turns round and smacks you right in the face. I would pay the £40 for the online game alone. Achievements are there to be had on the ranked games only, however more fun is to be had on player matches. A well organised player match is fantastic, you decide where your strengths lie;whether it be a sniper, scout, medic or various others. And you play that part in your team, a well balanced team is the key to winning in any team gameplay. Personaly, i like the online war mode: you and your team fight to gain control of an area, pushing the opposition back and back until you win the last area and win the game. One last thing i would like to mention about this game, is that it attracts gamers right throughout the spectrum. from young to the very old. This makes for a well balanced mature online gameplay, as their is nothing worse than kids shouting obscenities and going out their way to spoil gameplay ( dont get me wrong, there are more respectful youngsters than the latter, who enjoy getting away from these idiots too).
To conclude: This game is fantastic: both online and offline. This game falls into the category RENT THEN BUY, its that good.
OH! and just one more thing, please use the online punish system wisely: Only punish if you are intentionaly or stupidly killed by a team mate. Have fun, and enjoy.

Still worth playingBy a customer , 05 Jun 2012This is a great game, it still plays very well and is still a good challenge on the harder settings. Unfortunatly it is showing its age especially in comparison to World at war but it is still a very playable game.
The biggest negative is that there is no one playing this online any more so you will not be able to max out the gamer score for this title.
good but not the best!!!By jordz2ky (56 reviews) from Altrincham , 08 May 2011good story, good online but quite glitchy, can get really annoying. When hiding behind cover somehow the computer AI can still shoot you and is also extremely accurate.
Could have been a lot better.By NewtonBomb (6 reviews) from Seaham , 26 Apr 2011The story and game is quite enjoyable early on. If you go for achievements, You may struggle. The game is very glitchy and you may find yourself being shot through walls. The multiplayer looks like it would be fun, that is if you can join a game as it isnt very populated.
Call Of Duty 3...Hours...!!!By Goldbergsdragon (102 reviews) from Gillingham, Kent, United Kingdom , 06 Feb 2011
[Highly rated reviewer]This game was obviously rushed when being made due to its high amount of bugs and glitches. This has more interactions than other Call Of Duties, such as driving and placing C4, but in place is a very limited amount of guns. The sound and graphics aren't to bad especially for its age. I would recommend renting this if you are an achievement hunter so you can get some points easily. Or buy this only if its cheap and you have friends that has it and will play it as the game is online as well.
Great gameBy philslim321 (4 reviews) from Basingstoke , 29 Jul 2010Bought this game 2 years ago with my 360 and would never be without it, have had mw2 since and world at war but for me the online is perfect in cod3, choose the map you want, all guns from the start, 24 players and game's lasting up to 1hr.
Dont get me wrong the later games are better and black ops will be as well but i just love the whole online play in this game have had some great night's playing this and will do for a long time yet.
