Where to start with this fantastic game! Okay the single player story. My first impressions of the game were 'Hey this is a vast improvement on the first one set piece wise' and then I got to the skidoo escape and I was like 'OMG this is awesome!' and then that moved on later to 'OMG, why did he just do that!' to 'OMFG there are helicopters falling out of the sky!' and then to 'Wow what a ride that was!'.

Needless to say there has been a lot of thought put into the character progression in this game and the team at Infinity Ward have defiantly thought 'Okay what can we do with this games story that will have people teetering on the edge of their armchairs the whole way through the game?'. I myself found at some points I was truly astounded at how epic the set pieces were, in fact I had the hairs on the back of my neck standing on end during one part!

I will not spoil the story of any of those yet to complete the single player component, but if you haven't yet you really should consider taking a break from the multiplayer and sinking some time in to the story mode, in some places it is your typical American gung-ho 'look at the USMC we're the world's best warriors EVAR!!!!' but just tune out during those parts you'll be okay.

As with Call of Duty 4 you find yourself attaching yourself to the characters in Modern Warfare 2. But this time around you jump between two soldiers which at times can be confusing as to which one you are leading you to distance yourself from the two protagonists. I found myself attaching myself more to Ghost who is blatantly Gaz from Call of Duty 4. I also found myself building a distinct hatred of Lieutenant General Shepherd after what he does at the games mid point. All of this builds up to an action film paced roller-coaster ride that should not be missed by anyone!

Let's move on to Spec-Ops! Spec-Ops pits you and a friend against the games AI in set missions where you either must kill a certain number of enemies, make it though a certain section of the game without being spotted using stealth kills to move forward or grabbing an item and making it to an extraction point.

The Spec-Ops game mode is worth while and I have had some good times playing it. In one particular mission named Evasion I remember crawling through the snow and brush with a friend both of us talking in a tactical fashion until we stumbled across a group of three guards. I moved slightly off to the left still keep in close comms with my friend as I lined up a shot that would put my round through two soldiers heads while he lined up a shot at the third.

When all shots were lined up I counted 3... 2... 1... then all that was heard was the low clicking sound as we both fired our silenced M14's into our respective targets watching them slump to the ground. This made me feel like a tactical master even if at the time I was sat in my armchair with a pad in my hand, for that moment I felt like a soldier.

As we all know in gaming now days it's all about immersion and the single player and Spec-Ops are great. They both do a wonderful job of sucking you into a moment like a giant Dyson and then spinning you around in a vortex of bullets and mayhem before setting you down on a mound of grey fluff, Well maybe not the grey fluff part but you get the idea!

But as I'm writing this I can hear you all saying 'Yeah yeah, blah blah blah... Largo what about the multiplayer?!' Well okay you bunch of impatient people! To you I would say 'Modern gaming isn't all about multiplayer you know!' But I myself would then be telling a big fat lie! But moving swiftly onwards... The multiplayer!

Now Infinity Ward knew this was the game maker, if they could get the multiplayer right this game would be going down in history and although it has gotten off to a difficult start with glitches being rife throughout the game. You could argue this was because there was no public Beta testing of the game.

But these things aside the multiplayer does not disappoint, it is highly polished and the addition of multiple killstreak rewards that you can customize is great. The guns mostly all feel balanced aside from a few n00b c4nn0ns and a couple of useless sniper rifles.

One thing that does bug me massively is that someone with say the ACR can hit a sniper from the other side of the map with no trouble yet a sniper has to wait for his aim to centre as he holds his breath and nine times out of ten it's then too late for the sniper, when in real life the sniper would probably be outside the ACR's effective range or the rifleman would not be able to see the sniper.

As with most Call of Duty games before, when a sniper stays still a gremlin crawls out from behind a wall or bush and shines a high powered torch at his back creating a silhouette so they might as well have a neon light over head saying 'SHOOT ME!'.

But these things aside I still enjoy the multiplayer a lot even if at times it is very tedious. In summation Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2 is a gaming masterpiece that would have only been improved by a better beta testing of the multiplayer side of things although still worth every penny I paid for it. Pick it up now if you haven't already!

This game is Something out of a dream it is magnificently Genius. The Only problem is THE GLITCHES there is way too many glitches in mw2 and this spoils it but sometimes as long as the glitches dont Happen to your play frankly you oculdnt care less. The Best Missions in MW2 are all about Stealth invading a Russian base in the mountains or Defending a manasion from terrorists, this game is not for the faint hearted.

But it is better than Black Ops and is sooooooo much fun to Play

    Thank You for reading
