Quite nice... but does get a little bit monotonous
By Paul Keir from Basingstoke, England , 18 Apr 2006[Highly rated reviewer]
I'm a big fan of first person shooters so I have scoured the place for these games on PSP - and there don't seem to be too many around. So I thought I'd give Coded Arms a go.
It's not bad - but its not great. After a few levels I found it to be quite repetitive in the gameplay - graphics and sound are god, and there seemed to be a good array of weapons.
Unfortunately its a bit one dimensional. OK for a rental - but I would have been disappointed if I'd actually bought it.- Was this review helpful to you?

(4)Great Idea, Flawed Execution
By Aulis (12 reviews) from Wells , 10 Jul 2008The idea, whether it has been done before, is fantastic. Entering a malfunctioning and out of control army virtual training program, to hunt for monetary rewards for the real world is bound to be exciting, and the fact that you're told that if anything goes wrong in the simulation, your outside body will - matrix style - die.
What it lacks, though, is a really well executed engine. The game's rooms are totally randomised, and that's something that either works really well, or doesn't. Remember Daggerfall? That wasn't so good, and coded arms is a little like that.
The weapons are innovative, the sound effects and enemies are great, and for a 1.50 game, it looks gorgeous, (notice the little lines of code as somebody or something dies,) but...the spirit isn't there.- Was this review helpful to you?
