Crazy Taxi

Lets make some crazy money! The very first Sega game to appear on Sony hardware is the original Crazy Taxi from Segas Hitmaker division. Crazy Taxi is where you take to the streets of sunny San Francisco to get paid by taking people where they need to go. Whats cool about Taxi is that you that you can drive anywhere you want, under the ocean and over the buildings. This is one arcade conversion that PS2 owners shouldnt miss out on.

The passengers in Crazy Taxi have different rings surrounding their bodies that indicate how far a distance they wish to travel. The longer distance runs are both trickier and time consuming. Time is a precious element in this game, as you have a strict limit that can only be replenished by successful fares. If you take too long, its game over. The more fares, the more money you earn and the more time you get.

To add to the cash bonus, you can perform all kinds of crazy tricks and tactics like the crazy drifts and starts. You can also dodge in and out of the traffic to rack up some quick points.

To add extra longevity to the console incarnation, Sega has included an original mode that adds an extra, bigger city. This new city is approximately twice the size of the original and has a whole host of new features and shortcuts. Additionally, there are several judged bonus games like the Crazy Jump where you perfect your driving techniques and can compete with your friends.

Overall, Crazy Taxi is a sweet Sega addition to the PlayStation 2s library, a healthy dose of originality and fun.
