this game isnt free you pay the £34.99 to £39.99 to buy the disc u get 1 months free use with it there is no offline game aalways has to be played online and here is a costing break down and its confirmed by sony online entertainment (SOE) 1 MONTH SUBSCRIPTION IS £9.99 3 MONTH SUBSCRIPTION IS £29.99 6 MONTH SUBSCRIPTION IS £49.99 only pc users get the option of lifetime subscription priced at a unbelievable £179.99 there is also microtarnsactions in the game (buy extra game items) so this game could be very costly and should only be bought / rented if you are prepaired to pay out your nose to play be warned !!!!!

You can only play this game online but it is free to play.

You can also Download it from PSN for free

You can if you wish pay for additional content to download (some of which is included on the Disc version)

I have the free downloaded version & have been playing it free online for several months now completely free.

Im not sure how many of you are aware that this is a Subscription based game where you have to pay £10 month. Despite that, this game is Immense. Level is capped at 30 at the moment but thats just where the game begins. Backgroung graphics are fantastic and you'll need to be team player to proceed further in the game.

Brillant fun. hardly been off since purchased as very addictive.

Please be aware though that game is Region Locked. If like me you have most your mates in USA you will need to set up a USA a/c on your PS3 AND buy copy of DC from USA

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHide

Due to the fact that it's a rented game, theres no 1 month free code, however i still paid the £9.99 from playstation store to test it out, creating the character is good, but you have to watch a 10 minute video every time you want to make a character... pointless.

When you start the game, you can do as much as you can if you were the highest level, your character barely improves. The only enemy you will ever see in metropolis are gorillas, and no im not joking, theres about 50 odd players on the first beach fighting them, the HUD is always too small so you have to go close to your TV to even read what it says and partnering up with friends is sooooo difficult. No point in there being a chat menu if you cant even read the 'enter your message' bar.

On the plus side there are 3 different types of super's, run fast (up walls, across building, very bad ass if you love going faster than everyone else), acrobatics (cling onto buildings, ceilings etc, good if you like characters like batman, gliding is also available, very cool) Then theres flying, the best thing about any super hero game, but it doesnt help that you go at about 5 mph and it takes ages to get anywhere when flying, such a pointless thing to have when you see everyone else doing it aswell.

Overall it is a good game but eventually it becomes very repetitive and its very difficult to get to Gotham when you;re a hero, or get to Metropolis when you're a villain because waypoints are very unclear. Good game but the fact that it isnt free, its hard to communicate, and the flying lets it down, the beta gameplay looked great because someone said that you choose which part of the body where your energy comes from, but it doesnt... you get about 7 options like sorcery??? supers dont do that, harry potter does!

    3 stars is very generous...
