Dark Cloud's Silver Lining
By Kujraine (9 reviews) , 10 Sep 2012When this game was a demo, I lusted for it with great desire. 6 years later, I decided to rent it to see what I thought was so great. Before I knew it, I was desiring it once again.
The fighting style is basic and simple, the progression is repeated throughout, and the customization of towns is great fun! My only quarrel was with the weapons system - How when a weapon broke, it was gone for good. You could customise your weapon to max stats, from the start of the game, and with a single hard-shelled critter, it was all gone.
With that exception, I thought it was amazing. The story isn't Tolkien by design, but it's gameplay makes up for that, and more.- Was this review helpful to you?

Weapons, building and RPG...awesome
By Unforfilling (8 reviews) , 23 Sep 2011I played this game in my teens over and over, at first I didn't get the weapon system or how it worked until I replayed it and actually read the tutorial! After that it was grind grind grind, level level level! I loved it! The weapons are awe inspiring and will get you past the grinding just so you can get to the next one! The only bad thing about this game is that the weapons eventually :( stop changing. The town building is fun also! Now if they had this, crossed with suikoden recruitment, crossed with the town building in skies of arcadia, i could play it endlessly.The story is good, not the best, but its the gameplay that really brings this game to life.- Was this review helpful to you?
