Dark Souls

Too long for a rental, already over 30 hours for me and plenty left to play. As everyone knows its very hard and unforgiving but if you like to actually play your games rather than watch them, Dark Souls is for you. Ninja Gaiden of the xbox is recommended if you liked it.

This game is obviously either a love it or hate it game. Graphics look alright in some aspects, personally I think the combat is boring and unsatisfying. I don't mind hard games. but this one takes the biscuit. It's not necessarily the hardest game i've played, but the combination of its difficulty and sheer depressing atmosphere made it almost unbearable for me. I decided to send the game back after realizing I wasn't doing my adrenals any good after raging my face off at every interval....Only to then re-enter the game to have some NPC moan at me like i've entered a festering acid bath of emo-tasticness. Nah sorry, game wasn't for me. Sorry, I hardly ever right reviews, but I felt this one had to be done. Really wasted a rental. However I guess some people love this kind of game, fair enough. Don't let me stop you playing it.

i hired this out when it first came out and hated it, it was so difficult and facing a boss after about 30 mins further increased my distaste for it. then a few weeks ago i thought about it and got demons souls first where this was unavailable. that was awesome but when i got hold of this again i was able to appreciate it more. the difficulty is insane but if you put your heart and soul into it its worth it. sure its a pain to face a few enemies and then face a single one who kills you in a few hits sending you back to a spawn 20 mins ago. if your into rpg's and a challenge get it, or just leave well alone from this awesome game it will swallow your soul

Right first of the game is meant to be 'hard'. . its not hard, it's time consuming, there is a massive difference! like i mean hours and hours of boren battles, completing this game was the biggest waste of my life. It is not a real RPG, you never get the sense that you are all powerful therefore the game is not rewarding! In a RPG u want to get to a point were your so strong you can wipe out entire army's and only the bosses give you trouble. For normal silly fights in this game it can take up to half an hour to kill like 4 people, this is the way it goes all through the game. There is no seeing the fear in your enemy eyes when u charge at them and cut them down, its just CONSTANT block, counter, block counter and dodge . it is so so so repetitive and you guys are telling lies if you say you didn't complete this just to say you completed it.. what other reason could there be. . playing RPG's is about escaping into a power person you wanna be like in your fantasy's, in this game it might as well be plain old normal you in there because that's how strong your champion will ever be. . i wish i could get back the 60 hours wasted on this game and that was me trying to rush. .

A good game to carry on from Demon souls, If you are the type of gamer who plays all games on easy then don't bother but if you like a challenging game then this will test your abilities. Dark souls gets my thumbs up!
