This is a game for those of you who can stop themselves from smashing their controlers to bits.....trust me, your gonna wanna.
In all my years as a gamer, I have never played a harder game than this.....EVER.
The emotions you feel whilst playing change by the second. From the joy at not dying in every encounter, to the shock and terror everytime you trigger a boss.....dont forget the elation and reilef and beating each boss. The fact its harder than a coffin nail really doesnt matter, you wont be able to put this down. I have never felt such a buzz at beating a boss, or been so worried about whats coming next..incredible.
As long as you keep in mind dying is the main part of the game you'll love this.
Simply put, if you can finish this game, your not only gonna be able to play and finish any other game ever made, but do it on its hardest mode......easily. The achievement or trophy for completion of Dark Souls should be treated as legendary, its that hard. BUT MY GOD, I LOVE THIS GAME.- Was this review helpful to you?

Give it some time!

As others have said, it's very hard, but that's what makes it so challenging. Had my copy for well over a week now and plan to keep hold of it a while longer. Depressing and disappointing
By Steasaurus (4 reviews) from Hartlepool , 03 Oct 2012I can't express how utterly disappointed I am. I was very excited to get my teeth into a game that claims to be one of the most challenging games ever made. But after getting a taste I felt misled.
The gameplay itself doesn't really appear to offer much challenge, the sloppy controls and awkwardness of the game are what really get you frustrated.
At one point a slight nudge of my shoulder button caused me to hit an NPC whilst I was in mid conversation, this NPC then proceeded to murder me very easily. And then he did it again and again. The auto save function meant that I had no way of undoing the action and the fact that I spawned right next to him after each death had essentially broken my game. The only two options I was left with was to run for my life not knowing where I was supposed to be heading after respawning or start the entire game over.
I can forgive moments like that in other games, and I have, but that's not my biggest issue. My main reason for not liking this game was because of how bleak and depressing the whole thing was. Pretty much everyone that you speak with in game makes you want to kill yourself with their droll voices and depressing tones. And everything is grey.
Ultimately, this game was NOT infuriatingly difficult to the point that I want to smash my controller. It was instead depressingly dull to the point that even when I was facing what should have been entertaining boss battles, I was constantly thinking about how I'd much rather be playing something else... or doing laundry.- Was this review helpful to you?

"You Will Die"

Felt as though I was playing the superNES again, but with much better graphics. Combat is very fluid.

Below average in every way!

Average graphics and everytime you die, you have to replay the same missions again...
Sent it back after a couple of hours....
