DiRT Showdown will deliver a new world of competitive and combative racing as players boost, trick and smash their way to Showdown finals on a chaotic tour of motorised mayhem. There are three broad categories to DiRT Showdowns thrilling action-sports racing. Players will use nitrous to blast past rivals and negotiate courses filled with ramps, pinch points and obstacles in full-contact Racing events. Gamings most advanced damage engine is unleashed in Demolition Derby themed events where players smash and crash their way to victory in bone-jarring style. Finally, in Hoonigan events, gamers will send fans wild in huge stunt parks where accessible new controls offer every player the chance to become a freestyle driving hero. From San Francisco to Miami and London to Tokyo, players will dominate their rivals and wow the crowds on their way to becoming a driving superstar. Pyrotechnics, lasers and thousands of fans give each venue a vibrant sports entertainment atmosphere, with the player taking centre stage. Over 50 different events across four championships will challenge gamers in a variety of conditions sun, snow and rain through the day and under the floodlights at night. DiRT Showdown will feature an exciting new line up of off-road machines. Ken Blocks all new Gymkhana FOUR H.F.H.V. Ford Fiesta debuts alongside an eclectic mix of vehicles across a range of classes. From saloons and muscle cars to pick-up-trucks, hearses and vans, players have a wide selection of custom cars to trick, race and destroy. DiRT Showdown will be Codemasters most connected game ever split-screen multiplayer, eight-player online racing, on and off-line quick-fire party games and YouTube integration all come as standard. Players will also be able to issue Showdown Challenges to compete with friends whether they are online or not.

Good Old Fashioned Car Bashing!

If you like a good old rally game (McRae) look elsewhere, however if you like a good old destruction derby then this game is for you. There are quite a few different events to keep you entertained, yes the handling & the graphics are not the greatest, but its good old mindless fun.

GREAT FUN FOR ALL

Good game really diferent from previous dirt games went down more of a fun route than a serious racing game .Lots of mayhem with the tracks laid out to increase the risk of big crashes can be a bit frustrating but then you remember its only a game defo worth a rent anyway had a good few days fun with it

Not sure why Showdown is receiving mixed reviews, It's a pretty good game in my opinion. Solid driving and a nice variety of different events to try your hand at that also can replayed as mastering events such as Gymkhana has a good replayability factor. The only downside is that it doesn't evolve too much from Dirt 3 and Dirt 3 has the better content.

Worst game ever?

A Shockingly bad game that is repetitive and not about racing at all. The first 3 dirt games were good, mixing rally cross with baja racing etc. They were fun and varied. Where are they in this game? Gone! They're simply absent from the game. Replaced with over the top, completely unrealistic, destruction derby modes. These might be a little fun online, for 10 minutes, but if that's what I wanted I would've got COD, not something masquerading as a racing title. It's a good job Colin McRae isn't around to see what his pioneering Rally games have become. Nothing more than over Americanised WWE wrestling in cars. Woeful.

smash and race.

this is great for kids, and i quite enjoyed it as well, it's demolition derby, and a great smash em up, all the levels are achievable, grafix are o. k and the music is current 'i can predict an earthquake right here' it's a bit inane but mixes the smash up with racing really well, and the computer opponents are quite intelligent. loved it.
