Well I havent played this 'version' yet but I played the original DOOM3 for the original XBOX.....

All I can say is it is intense, dark, bloody, twisted...... EVERYTHING that makes DOOM GREAT !!!

Highly recommened to anybody who call themselves a FPS addict. This game delivers in bucket loads.

I'm eagerly awaiting my copy being delivered so I can remenice and turn all the lights off, close all the curtains and play until my eyes bleed !

Rubbish! If you really want to play Doom 3 then play the original PC version otherwise the original Dead Space beats it hands down in every way.

it is a great game, from what ive noticed you seem to be finding ammo alot more easy, never short of supply, always a good thing when blowing those monsters away, the shotgun was my favorite weapon of choice, well worth a go dont matter if you played the old one or not, either way just try it, infact put it on you rental list right this second :p

dated, slow and NOT scary!

It was amazing when it was first released on pc, fortunately it now looks dated, its too slow and does not play as good as good as new fps'. I thought they had remade it with a modern look and feel, but if you played the original on pc don't bother renting! If your into scyfi horror I would recommend the dead space series, aliens; colonial marines and fear.

Having played the original release of Doom 3, I was eager to get my hands on this HD remake. However I wasn't as satisfied as I had hoped. The game still shares the robust shooting mechanics and atmosphere that I loved made the original, but apart from that I could barely see any improvements within the visual or audio fields. If you're an old Doom 3 it's worth the rental for nostalgia sake, but not much else is new.
