    [Highly rated reviewer]

Although not without it's faults this game is pretty much perfect for the older fans of RPG games, the combat stays interesting with many huge monsters such as chimeras, griffins, hydras and many more to fight regularly.

Unlike many modern RPG's like skyrim it doesn't hold your hand and will punish you if you mess up. This can be a good thing but also a bad thing if you are inpatient(imagine slaying a dragon and a ton of other enemies to fall of a cliff and it not to have auto saved since your last rest at an inn). These problems do have a certain charm though.

I would recommend this game for anyone who played RPG's in the 90's or anyone looking for a challenging immersive RPG in general, just remember be patient

This game is amazing, once you get into it and use the pawn system properly. I much prefer it to Skyrim at the moment and it's more like the older style of RPG. Probably better to buy it than rent it as it takes a while to get going.

Looks great but there are so many glitches and the story is inaccessible and slow to start. I just couldn't be bothered grinding my way to a point where (maybe) the game becomes fun.

the best Rpg i have played since skyrim. i bought this the first day it was released and played it for a month before eventually completing. i have just got the order through for the rental because i miss the game and want to replay the stroy. the boss battle are amazing, the graphics are a solid 8/10 and the pawn system is new and adds another dimenstion to the game. the only tiny flaw to this game is the constant respawn of enemies on the way to and back from the ONLY city in the game. to make the game the best Rpg ever in my eyes the game needs to be more densley populated, pawns need to shut up and more cities and villages needed to be put into the game. worth a buy defo rent this will be missing out on over 120hours of Rpg and a quality game that is unlike skyrim fallout and any other rival games

Interestingly I rented this and SkyRim at the same time. The reviews (in the main) for both were the exact opposite of my experience. SkyRim reviews were championing it as one of the greatest titles ever, with stunning 'as yet unseen' graphics. I found it to be glitchy, PS2-esque graphically and about as engaging as a lump of lard! Needless to say it went back within 24 hours. Conversely Dragon's Dogma has great graphics (I mean really good!), engaging challenges and an interesting story. The one down-side to this game is the title track which I'm sure is much beloved in Japan, but to my Western ears it is like something from a 70s failed wimp-rock band.
