  • Much improved, worthy of a rent

    [Highly rated reviewer]

After the buggy, sloppy, frustrating DRIV3R, does the driver series deserve a second chance? Of course it does.

The in car chase missions are more forgiving this time around, you can actually see traffic far in the distance rather than having it pop up 30 yards ahead. The new version of your wanted meter deserves props; it puts different values on your person and your ride.

The on foot missions – well, though improved, they’re still annoyingly clunky. You almost never have to leave your car though, unless its to jack a replacement, so it never really becomes a problem.

The games style and story make up for its occasional deficiencies; NYC is a good place for a destructive party, even if the few side jobs and missions eventually wear thin.

Well Worth a rent is this one. Much improved from the previous Driver titles, and IMO a better storyline than Driv3r. Would recommend this is a purchase, but may be worth renting to try out first as I did.

DRIVER:PARALLEL LINES is by far the best DRIVER game so far. With a good soundtrack, very nice cars, a good map, good characters and a good idea of using two time periods,1978 and 2006. I wont reveal any more but it is a good betrayal game, which i personaly dont like, but i very do like this one.

  • Fast, Stylish, great gameplay

Parallel Lines is a true driver game. Not like Driver 3 that was hard to control, bad gameplay, bad story and way to hard. This has the same feel of the original Driver that was out on the ps1 but more up to date. You can buy and develop your own cars, up grade tyres, nitros, colour etc. The story is brilliant starting in th 1970's and ending up after a 28 year jail sentance you are in the present. Loads of action, side missions none stop adictive fun. Ace!

Almost as good as rival GTA, but not quite. Still but better than driv3r. Give it a try
