Big wait for a big let down

Received this today and after 3 hours ish of play, I can safely say this game is an epic fail. The game has poor graphics by todays standards, screen tearing, dodgy frame rate and no story at all...'but it's the playability!' I hear you scream, well everything gets dull quickly(got to the point where unlocking achievements was all it had to entertain) and shows up the fact this game is mish mash of ideas that fails on all fronts. By sa79 (9 reviews) , 22 Nov 2012So I rented this game out of curiosity. To cut to the chase, yes it really is as bad as the reviews make out.
Uninspired gameplay, outdated graphics, unfunny 'humour' and atrocious loading times.
For a long time I'd been mulling over whether to pay a fiver for a second hand copy but I couldn't do it. This rental proves it was the right decision.
A bit like Chinese Democracy, just because you spent ages making it, doesn't make it any good.- Was this review helpful to you?

Not Bad to Good !

I liked the gameplay campaign, Multiplayer I have not tried that. They could improve so much by the graphics, but it was a good game. Well Made !- Was this review helpful to you?

As far as Games go this is one of the WORST!

Not worth the wait? Worth it's weight!
By CannibalCorpses (9 reviews) , 21 Jun 2012Most people have had nothing good to say about this game and frankly i think they haven't played it enough to enjoy it.
While it is true that in terms of gameplay it is vastly different from the original classic, this game truly stands head and shoulders above most of the first person shooters i have played recently. The challenge is intense, the graphics are fine, the humour is perfect. The constant tongue in cheek references to other games and films made me laugh out loud many times.
The only thing i didn't like was the load times and that was really down to me dying too much.
So i urge you to put away the rose tinted spectacles and give this game a go...If you like a challenge that is. Low skill players beware, this game is not for you ;)- Was this review helpful to you?
