Exit

Taito's Exit centres on a character named Mr. Esc. (short for Escape, of course). He's a self-styled 'get-you-out-of-a-jam man' who's ready to hire himself out for those all too frequent moments in life when one finds oneself in dire straits. Fire, ice, crumbling walls and debris can't deter Mr Esc. from the one thing he's really good at - saving lives.

Exit is a game as simple as its title. You take control of Mr. Esc. and aim for the exit. Once you have reached it, press the circle button to clear the stage. You have to reach the exit from each stage before the time limit, but in some stages, some additional conditions may be set. A stage can be cleared without bringing the companions - the ones you have rescued, quaintly enough - to the exit, as long as this doesn't violate the conditions for clearing the stage, conditions which are set out at the start of each stage.

Typically Taito, Exit is a novel hybrid of puzzler and platformer, and one that could well attract a big following - a bit like Mr. Esc. himself.
