PRO EVO just cant keep up with FIFA
By Willo (5 reviews) from Liverpool , 29 Sep 2008[Highly rated reviewer]
I have played the demo of FIFA 09 and it looks even better that 2008. Its a shame all these die hard pro evo followers just cant except the truth. Pro evo is 2nd class to EA's baby.- Was this review helpful to you?

This to me was a very silly game. As much as it had all official teams unlike Pro Evo, the gameplay was just terrible. The players constantly falling over and losing the ball, thats just to start. The layout of the menu is a bit confusing due to not knowing what you need to do when it comes to trophies. I would only recommend this to football fans. Although the trophies are easy if you have a second person to help you and alot of time. Bare in mind that you can not get the platinum trophy any more due to EA! Being so lazy and cheap! (I am not a football fan in the slightest)- Was this review helpful to you?

Even Stevens
By a customer from Redruth , 01 Dec 2008I've been an avid fan of Pro Evo since number 5 on the PS2 and it has always been streets ahead of FIFA in the gameplay department. However, the latest incarnation of FIFA has finally caught up with PES. You really feel that a goal scored is one that you have had to work for. Build up play becomes a neccessity and just running at the goal and randomly shooting will not getthe desired result. Added to that you have better licensing and a much better graphical look alround.
You have the new be a pro mode which allows you to take the game on as one player in a team and improve him throughout the season, which is a nice twist on the normal manager mode. You can also play through the Adidas season where the teams are updated based on real life data.
The only gripe I have with it is that when displaying monetary figues it's all done in dollars and not pounds. I haven't found an option to be able to change it (but then again I do not have a manual to be able to see if it can be done). This is the only reason I have given it 4 stars as there isn't an option to do half marks.- Was this review helpful to you?
