Fable, the very name in the gaming world demands a certain level of greatness. Does the 3rd installment live up to it's predecessors? Well, yes....ish.

Let me explain, first off there is no inventory in the game. The only way you can find out what you have with regard to gems, furniture, gifts etc is to go to a pawnbroker, this means that if you miss what you dug up or got from a chest then you better remember what you already had. The biggest flaw is easily the expression system. In Fable 2 you went into a town, do whatever expression you liked and anyone around you responded. Here you have to interact with 1 person and then you get 2 choice, 1 good and 1 evil (until later when it let's you have an extra choice). This gets very dull very quickly, repeatedly dancing with someone and then doind pat-a-cake is, well dull. If you manage to get your reationship high enough then you'll get a friend quest, this is either dig something up or deliver something to someone else, that's is. Once you've done this a few times you won't want to do it again. Don't get me wrong though the game is fantastic in other areas, the battle system is the same except you actually want to use all 3 methods of attacking rather than just flourishing with your melee weapon, granted this is because almost every flourish triggers a slo mo where you can't really do anything but it's a minor annoyance. Really though there are many good reasons to rent and even own this game. The story is great (except for the end boss, what exactly was it?) the choices are inspired, the feel is just right and the voice actors are fantastic (Stephen Fry is amazing)

Anyway Fable 3 is a great game but feels slightly rushed and the only problems it has are always at the front of your mind but that doesn't detract from the fact this is a pleasure to play with ample replay value. Well what did you expect, it's Fable.

Not a bad game. Doesn't take itself seriously, until the big bad end, then it gets dark. I liked the improvements made to multiplayer - I can actually be my own player in someone else's world on local! The property buying was a bit tedious, with having to upkeep your houses constantly to maintain a decent upkeep, but at least you could check your estates from the map, rather than having to do it in person. The lack of inventory mentioned by some others was a little annoying, but I liked how weapons and magic were arranged. I enjoyed spell-weaving, but tended to stick with that one COMPLETELY overpowered combo that I found. I liked how the weapons granted you stuff once you upgraded them. Once I finished on Bonesmasher, I took Shrieking Pilgrim and the increase in Guild Seals was useful. I disliked the interaction interface, only being able to interact with one person at a time. It made making friends tedious, and I just ended up marrying another player and having a kid with them because it was easier. Overall, not a BAD game, but not my favourite of the Fable franchise.

I'm a fan of Fable and Fable 2 so was very excited to see Fable 3. I tried it on demo and loved it, so definitely wanted to rent it. However, after spending quite a few hours playing I have to say I'm disappointed with it. It's definitely not as good as Fable 2. I'll start with what I did like first. Contrary to other reviewers, I did like the game-play. It was pretty much at my level (I'm usually a casual gamer). If anything maybe a sliding scale of difficulty on the Options menu would have allowed everyone to pitch it at their own level. Also the graphics are lovely. It really is a lovely looking and attractive game. Now for the down-side. I hated that there was no inventory. Why no inventory?! The Sanctuary was nice for a breather and quite fun to see things laid out in rooms, but I still want to know what I have on my person at all times. I want to be able to carry around more than two types of food at a time and be able to eat them when I want, not just in battle. Basically, it seems pointless to me for a character to be able to pick things up, but to be unable to see what they have. Also not being able to do that means you have to be very involved in the towns - there's no point in roaming in the countryside like there was in Fable 2. I suppose the story is you are leading a rebellion, not being an adventurer, but that was a really good part of the game-play for me in Fable 2 - packing a whole load of food and walking to the next town instead of fast travelling, fighting baddies along the way. Another point that disappointed me were the clothes shops. They were rubbish! In Fable 2 there is quite a vast range of clothes to choose from, understandable as your appearance affects people's response to you. In Fable 3? Not much choice at all. I can't be the only one that enjoyed kicking butt wearing hot-pants (or a gypsy skirt), knee-high boots and a helmet of some sort? I liked investing in homes, shops and stalls in Fable 2, but even this aspect became a tiresome burden in Fable 3. In the game you can get married and have children or adopt children, even if you're not married. After my intended got killed by a werewolf thing while we were on our first date (I really didn't know that could happen - be warned!), I couldn't face the tedium of the interaction process needed to build a relationship with someone else, so I, sadly, didn't bother to experience this aspect of the game. All in all, it's a good game to rent, the premise of the Fable genre remains unique and enjoyable, but Fable 2 had it rights is a far better buy.

I LOVED this game. I thought it was entertaining and I loved the story line and side quests that you could do.

However, I found this game extremely glitchy! I would accept a quest and select a way point to it. But it would send me to completely the wrong area or place and wouldn't acknowledge the quest that I wanted to do. I found the way point glitchy, I would follow it and then it would tell me to go back to were I had come from and then go back to pointing the way it was sending me in the first place.

Overall I did enjoy this game and I would play it again but not being able to do some quests did annoy me quite a bit.

I would recommend it but it needs a better interface when it comes to dying/being defeated, you just lose some stuff and continue were you left of this makes it way to easy to complete, if you had to restart at a checkpoint or your last save like you do on most games it would make it a decent challenge
