Epic finally gives us a Gears of War we deserve.

Playing Gears of War 3 gives you options. Lots of options. Should you want to play the campaign, you can not only play this by yourself, but also with 4 friends in co-op. You can also play the campaign in a public party, which adds competition to the experience. Now that's campaign done.
They've also revamped Hoard. Instead of battling repetitive waves of locusts. time and time again, you now gain money with each kill which can be spent on building fortifications such as barriers, turrets and decoys. Selecting the correct combination is vital.
There is also a new Beast mode. This switches the Hoard mode around so you play as the locusts and batter away at the good guys for a change. With Beast, the selection of locust again is critical, each one has it's own skills and weak points.
Lastly, there is the multi-player. You can tell Epic spent some serious time in perfecting their previously very poor online experience; giving you targets to open additional characters/weapon skins ect as well as a very polished GUI.
My quirk with GOW2, was the matchmaking. This has been fixed. You have the option to join a match which gradually fills up with additional players, rather than wait 5 minutes for 10 players to join at the same time.
How long will I play this game? A long time. There is simply so much to do. I love it.- Was this review helpful to you?

Meh not fussed

The game-play is solid and i know friends of mine who like it but i was expecting more. I didn't even have the will to finish it i just didn't care about the characters or plot but id give it a go if you were a fan of the series.- Was this review helpful to you?
