God of war 1 is by most considered one of, if not the best PS2 game of all time.
God of war 2 is better.
Speaks for itself, this game is simply superb.- Was this review helpful to you?

God of Games
By cazzy1001 (1 review) from London , 12 Aug 2008blade-swingig anti-hero Kratos is back once again for more blood fueled carnage. this time he is a revenge mission, targeting the gods themselves.
I rented this game post purchase of my ps3 and, to be honest, i was worried that the lack of graphical power of God of War II, in comparison with current generation standards, may detract from the overall expience. IT DID NOT.
this has to be the most emersive, addictive, jaw-dropping, baddie-brawling, technical masterpiece ever to hit the ps2. the boss battles are even more spectacular than the previous installment and the new improved platforming mechanics and puzzles break up the 'in between' bits to mare sure decapitating demons NEVER becomes stale.
I reccomend this game above all others on the ps2. enjoy ;)- Was this review helpful to you?

God of War 2
By donwoogie (1 review) from London , 16 Apr 2008I was a big fan of the God of War series and here lies the second instalment of the game. The original game was a fun mix of action, platforming and 3d-puzzle solving all whilst providing an engaging storyline set in the Ancient Greek Mythology era. The locales and epic boss fights made the original game great.
God of War 2 changes this formula slightly by reducing the fighting and massively increasing the puzzling and platforming. For me, this wasn't so good. Every five minutes you will now be faced with a puzzle and, if you are not an uber puzzle fan, this can feel like it is bogging the gameplay and flow of the game down as you will have to stop and think about how to solve these puzzles every five minutes.
Having said that, the boss fights are still epic and the sotry line progresses in a fun and interesting way. Gore, locales and powers are still awesome as GoW2 pushes the Playstation 2 hardware to new heights.
Good game for rental. Received, played, sent back a week later.- Was this review helpful to you?
