You really need the guitar controller for this game as the in game options don't allow you to configure a normal controller to your liking

You just cant beat this guitar hero, no matter how many have been brought out, THIS is the best by far. I used to own the game, and got rid of quite alot of games in one go as they were clogging up. I am a new member and when I saw they had this, I had to get it, just to go through the best gh ever!!!!

Exactly like i say in the title, this game ROCKS!!! Anyone can play it, difficulty is child like (easy) to immensely hard (Expert). I mean just try to play Through the Fire and the Flames on easy, switch it to medium, hard and expert. Write me and let me know if you can ever play this song on Expert cos I would love to see it.

Don't rent this game without a guitar, it's nowhare near as fun without it.

For all you achievement hunters out there I would avaid this game like the plague. You will get sucked in, there are songs for absolutely everyone. I know the feeling of spending a whole week and only getting a dozen 5 point achievements. So if your an AH then avaid avaid avaid.

For you casual gamers get a copy for yourself (i mean buy) cos this has to be the best party game ever invented. You can't tell me you never had the dream of being a rockstar growing up. Everyone wdanted to be one at some point of their life. Heck I still want to be one now!

If you like GH1 or 2 then you will love this. In my oppinion it's better than Rock Band. Why not try GH Beatles or Aerosmith if you are into those bands. There is GH 80's for you old skoolerz and not for the faint of heart - GH: Metallica.

For me Guitar hero 3 is about the best guitar game around, better than GH world Tour but im yet to try GH5 - or as I'm led to believe there is a Van Halen version either out or on it's way. Can't wait to play Jump!

  • Fantastic Setlist

If you've never played a Guitar Hero or Rock Band game before, I would definitely recommend this one first. First off, you are able to play using the standard Xbox controller, which is great if you don't want to pay up for a guitar, it's also a lot easier to play with the pad than guitar. The newer versions of Guitar Hero and Rock band don't allow you to use the pad.

The list of songs on GH3 are great in my opinion, but obviously each to their own tastes. But for a game that requires you to ROCK, the songs are a great choice.

My only critisism of this game is that it doesn't compare to Rock Band when it comes to downloadable content, there's a few decent packs for GH3 but Rock Band has a lot more variety.

Seriously, this game does not get old, i urge you to try it.

    9/10

  • Great

This is EASILY the best GH of the series so far - and i'm including World Tour. It doesn't however, live up to the highly enjoyable Rock Band series, but then again, this is just guitar only.

I found the achievments very challenging however great fun. Plenty of things to do, and is great fun when you can play expert rank :)

however, one slight problem which irritated me the other day, was that when i completed the career mode on 'expert', i unlocked the achievment for that, but didn't unlock the achievments for completing easy, medium and hard.

ADVICE: You really do need a guitar to play this game, although if you are nimble fingered you'll be just as good with the controller.

I didn't have a guitar but playing this rental made me go out and buy my very own copy! Excellent, well worth a rental.
