After playing every single guitar hero game, some better then others, but this one certainly smash's them all, the track list is better, the game play is like a dream, its fun that you can put your avatar in there, the new and probably best thing about it is the new feature of you can do the same instruments with 2, 3 or 4 people, so you don't have to be the complete generic band, this game is Definitely worth buying, and if you can get your hands on it definitely rent it

if you havnt got an older version of this then get it!! Its GREAT FUN.

However, its just different songs to play so im glad i rented it and didnt buy it - there's nothing new or exciting about it to worth shelling the cash out on

  • All Songs available from the beginning!

There is no point in reviewing anohter guitar hero when the only thing you can say it 'yeah so the songs are different'.

Almost everything is exactly the same... except for the songs, And now multiplayer is easier to set up.

but yes, the tracklist is the great and its all available from the off... so you wont have to go through the campaign playing loadsa stuff you dont want to... unless you want the achivements of course ;)

Agree with another reviewer - mostly just about the setlist, which is a mixed bag at best. Worth a rent rather than a purchase.

  • Poor online community

This game is fine for single player mode, just to browse the content and finish career mode. Once finished, it becomes a bit dull. It's difficult to find online matches with very few players online at a time, which makes some of the online achievements impossible to get; unless you are willing to trawl forums to gather players.

This game is now only worth renting, as it will not offer any long term enjoyment, but is fun while it lasts.

  • Poor tracklist but still the best of them all

It's simply the best because of the control system and I am biased because I only like extreme metal (black/death/doom/etc) and obviously a mainstream music game would never feed my appetite for these genres (I hate nu-metal and most indie rock so all those horrible emo and hardcore songs like Chimaira and System of a Down make me cringe and they're a complete waste of space) but I was very pleased to see a track pack with Dethklok and Amon Amarth so hopefully they recieve positive feedback and get further bands that cater for more audiences than just MTV/kerrang listening adolescent teens.

The main reason this game is awesome though is the song creation system. I am definately a pro at Guitar Hero and the tracklist is always too easy that I can complete any song without even using star power on expert these days so they usually bore me but people can create some very awesome and hard songs. If you don't mind the cheesy quality and lack of vocals (no vocals is better for me) there's hundreds of hours of fun to be had finding all the classics. I could play the Megaman 9 tunes all day long.

I've had this title on rent for 5 months now and the only reason I would send it back is if I was forced to or I went out and bought it from the shops. So yeah it's not a 5 star game because of the many boring tracks but it's definately the best music game I've ever played.
