    [Highly rated reviewer]

I loved the first Guitar Hero so much that I went out and bought a real SG electric guitar. It looks lovely in my lounge, but I am still utterly rubbish at playing it.

Thankfully Guitar Hero 2 has given me a new lease of life with the more user friendly plastic axe that you use on the PS2.

Great songs, superb 2 player mode, and a practice mode to help you nail complicated riffs.

Don't rent this unless you already have a PS2 Guitar Controller, as it is utterly useless without one!

This is my first encounter with the Guitar Hero series and it's been a real eye opener.

The learning curve is quick, and although initially I was just managing to squeak through tracks, once I'd got a better grip of the guitar handling and where my fingers were supposed to be, then it all started to click in.

It's not to hard to fly through Easy mode and Medium takes a little longer, but again, with a little practice then you'll be flying towards the climax of medium mode, where a nice, but challenging surprise awaits.

I've dipped my toes into Hard level, and Expert level just seems obscenely difficult, but it is certainly one of those games that encourages you to have 'just one more go'...to nail that high score, get a perfect 5 stars, or just get through some of the heavier, more difficult tracks, without getting booed off the stage.

My only criticism so far would be that there aren't enough items to buy in the store...but other than that, it's a fantastic experience and well worth a look.

I have never played the first game but i loved number 2. With good songs and some good plots, i give it 4 stars.

this is a fantastic game. you actually feel like you are the one making the music that is screaming out of your tv. difficult at first but once you get into the swing of things you'll be bashing out some classic Lynyrd Skynyrd and Nirvanna tunes to name a but a few!

great single player and multiplayer modes, and being able to reherse before you play infront of a live audience is great when mastering the more difficult of sings. Only good however if you have a guitar controller or two.

Lovefilm do not rent out the guitar with the game-seems a completely useless rental to me as the whole idea is to play the game with the guitar!

    Kids were very dissappointed!
