The best HP game so far. Everything looks better in and around Hogwarts and the Wii remote is put to great use casting spells. A must for Harry Potter fans.- Was this review helpful to you?

(11)Wii wand at hand, this is a wonderfully immersive experience in Hogwarts School for Wizards
By TheyCallMeMrGlass (42 reviews) from London , 15 Nov 2011I have played earlier Harry Potter games and I thought they were mildly entertaining. This installment however, goes a long way to fully immersing you into the wizarding world as you get to roam freely in the Hogwarts school using your Wii remote and nunchuck to the fullest potential as you duel students and deatheaters, make potions, and playing quidditch. For a Harry Potter enthusiast, this game is almost a dream to play. The game moves through the story of the Half Blood Prince but you do still have total freedom to join clubs in duelling, potions and quidditch. The character faces are closely emulated as those of the actors in the film and some are even voiced by the actual actors themselves with others being voiced by sound-alikes. Ron in particular is hilariously voiced by Rupert Grint. Harry very much sounds like Harry including his amusing retorts at the school bullies.
I dont think non Harry Potter fans will enjoy this game quite as much, as I feel much of the games dependence is on your familiarity with the Potter world. Non HP fans will also pick up on the fact that the camera control is cumbersome, HArry cannot jump, and the graphics engine is old gen. Plus the story campaign makes no sense if you are not familiar with the book or film.
Despite the flaws, this is a highly entertaining game which maximises the potential of the Wii remote. You will actually sweat a bit during the duelling. Quidditch is fun and shockingly potion making has become my new addiction.
Wii-gaurdium Leviosa...a levitating 4 stars for HP fans but perhaps 3 stars for non fans.- Was this review helpful to you?

OK for the kids
By Tigertigertig (1 review) , 31 Oct 2011Completly new to the gaming world and this is therefore one of the first games I've played. Found it OK but a certainly couldn't be bothered to work all the way through it! It was briefly entertaining but I got bored very quickly.- Was this review helpful to you?
