Great, but is it new?

Kingdom Hearts is by it's title one of the most recognisable games there is. It's mix of Disney and Final Fantasy was and still is a match made in heaven. If you've played the first game then you'll know the progress of this one as the levels are almost identical.....or are they?
Even if like me you have played the series to death you will discover and learn more about the KH world.
I think some people will have a problem with the upgrading system you use for your character but personally loved it, reminds me of FFX.
This really is a great game for veterans and newcomers to the series. The gameplay changes from action adventure to 2D platformer to FF style battles to Space Harrier type levels and it all flows brilliantly.
In finishing I would say you have to get this game if only to be introduced to the KH world which is one of the most immersive and intriguing worlds there is. Go on, treat yourself to a bit of fun.- Was this review helpful to you?

A let down
By thegamer12 (2 reviews) from uk , 14 Jun 2012I remember playing the original versions of this game and this is by far the worst one of the series. The cut scene's weren't animated and the storyline was all over the place.- Was this review helpful to you?

unexpectedly poor.

I have a fondness for the Kingdom Hearts series, and enjoyed the previous DS game, 358/2 days, a great deal. Which is probably what made this port even more disappointing to me. An abominable camera control system and an 'auto jump' platforming style make it impossible to know where to go on the fly. The reuse of the worlds, although important to the plot, felt a little lazy to me, as it is a technique used in 358/2 days as well.
All in all, if you love the series and want to address your nostalgia, I would recommend replaying the originals, or at least playing the other hand held titles. If you are new to the series, the game's story is so horribly confusing I would recommend either looking up the plot of the first few games, or save yourself the bother.- Was this review helpful to you?
