Dull and disappointing
By Danke (1 review) from Devon , 12 Nov 2010[Highly rated reviewer]
This is a short game, with short levels. That would be fine if you weren't constantly getting interrupted with terrible story clips that you're not allowed to skip.
You never get any new abilities, and no new mechanics are introduced throughout the game. This means that each level is pretty much the same as the last one.
As the difficulty increases, and more precise jumps are needed it just shows up the fidgety controls. There's no sense of accomplishment to finishing these sections, as it doesn't always feel like it's your fault when you fall to your doom.- Was this review helpful to you?

(5)An old classic gets a face-lift
By MattDark (48 reviews) from Oldbury , 01 May 2012I seem to be seeing alot of negative reviews for this game, but it seems alot of people havent realised that while this game may be on the Wii, it is essentially a PS1 game given a graphical update so it can be played by a new generation of gamers.
As someone who played the original, the game has remained pretty much identical to its original debut. You character still moves around in the same way, the controls feel instantly familiar and its not long before your catching enemies and chaining them together one jump after another to jump great distances.
The only niggle ive had with the game is some of the voices. The original game didnt have much in terms of voice-work, aside from the handfull of sound-bytes for the various characters you met.
Now, konami have decided to try and voice all of their characters, but some of the choices dont seem to work quite well.
The titular Klonoa, for example, used to sound as if he would have a light voice, but he has been given a slightly deeper voice now, and what used to be a little sound-effect when you got hit now almost sounds like he's cursing.
For people who want to relive an old title, you cant go wrong here. For people picking it up for the first time, you'd best be prepared for a old games that sticks to its roots.- Was this review helpful to you?

Would be good but....
By a customer from Yorkshire , 22 Nov 2009would be a good game if it didn't put you all the way back to the beginning of the level every time you lost your lives. No saving part-way through a level. This means if you find a level tricky, then you do the legwork of a level, get to the hard bit, fail, and have to do the legwork all over again, and again and again. I gave up in the end!- Was this review helpful to you?
