"MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf" continues the massive destructible environments, intense combat and addictive online multiplayer gameplay that gamers have been praising since "MechAssault" first hit Xbox. Continuing in the 31st century, "MechAssault 2" allows gamers to encounter entirely new experiences in the epic BattleTech world. This third-person action/shooter game defines immense destruction taken to another level, as each environment in the game's five worlds is fully destructible. Players choose from a variety of weapons and vehicles- from the stealthy Raptor 'Mech to the 'Mech-jacking BattleArmor-all equipped with different weapon configurations and artillery. They can embark on the brand-new and intensive single-player campaign, or test teamwork skills to defeat the enemy in the ultimate online multiplayer experience. Good mix of first person shoot-em-up and sci-fi gaming

If anyone has played Future Strike LAPD on the playstation, and liked it they will love this xbox winner, the graphics are excellent which is as expected from Microsoft, the levels are varied as well as the choice of weapons. The multi player section is a bit repetative and unfortunately you dont have the option of 2player cooperative, which is something i like in a game, a a sci-fi shoot-em-up it lacks very little so grab your pad and blast away to your hearts content.

Good enough to rent, not to buy

This kept me occupied for quite a few hours, simple enough to pick up and play. Almost everything is recognisable to anyone familiar with Battletech. The downpoints were that you couldn't change your mechs in anyway and the difficulty of the game was changed only by downpowering the drops available. Which seemed a bit of a cop out. It is worth renting for a week or two of play, but I wouldn't buy it.
