Frustrating
By a customer from Liverpool , 27 Nov 2008[Highly rated reviewer]
This game gets 5 stars for innovation and originality and -4 for frustration:fun ratio.
I've never shouted 'what the **** are you doing *****?' at my TV before, but since I got this game (3 hours ago), I've lost count.
It can be fun at times, but most of the time, the character just decides to do something random and usually detrimental to whatever it is you're meant to be doing.
Before you get this game, you should follow my step by step guide to surviving it mentally and socially.
1. Buy some Kalms (to maintain mental health)
2. Strap pillows to your walls, ceilings and floors (to protect your expensive dual shock)
3. Soundproof your room (to maintain good relationship with neighbours)
Good luck!- Was this review helpful to you?

(49)Like many of the best things in life, this game has niche appeal. Its a cult hit.
By a customer , 13 Feb 2012Stunningly beautiful and uncompromising. It may be frustrating at times but i never wanted to give up. Things get easier as you start to master your movement controls and learn the subtle route changes which will make you quicker.
Eventually you will feel like a pro. Search for 'Mirrors Edge world record' on youtube and you will get some idea of the depth of this game.- Was this review helpful to you?

I am pleasantly suprised =] but ps3 broke..
By AlexJones_Bankai (31 reviews) from Shrewsbury , 20 Jan 2012Newer:
After getting to the second to last chapter the game suddenly no longer works, keeps crashing my ps3 and have had to restore it twice, apart from this little issue it was a good game!
Previous:
Only played a few chapters at the moment, but so far im quite suprised. After all my friends saying it was rubbish I hadnt really wanted to play it, but to be honest, its much better than I thought.
Yes the controls are a bit dodgy, yes its not THAT great a game, but for all the negatives, there a few a positives:
A different take on the 'First Person' genre.
It looks.. just plain cool
It is, in its way... one of the funnest games to play, with all the highspeed movement, ridiculous jumps etc
The cutscenes are kind of .. comic looking but not as detailed.
Basically I would say, if you know people who hate the game, or just don't like playing it, then give it a go anyway! worth a shot right?
p. s for those interested in Ps3 Trophies, this game isn't all that hard to obtain them! :)- Was this review helpful to you?

Mirrors Edge - Better than you think.
By ItsMeAcerG (8 reviews) from Leiston , 13 Sep 2011So theres a lot of negative reviews here. Put simply there wrong.
This game is unlike any other and users have had problems getting used to the devices at work here. This is a 1st person platformer with perhaps more similarities to the Prince of Persia games than Call of Duty.
If puzzling out how to get from the start of the level to the end in a stylish, tightly controlled burst of parkour is intriguing to you then I highly recommend this title. However if you want to walk down an endless corridor shooting bad guys you will be very dissapointed.
Please give it a fair shake and you'll find yourself wanting to play it again, wanting to improve the way you traverse the play area, wanting to see if you can disarm the gaurds and finish the game without ever firing a weapon.- Was this review helpful to you?

Avoid if possible...
By PaulusFirky (6 reviews) from Preston , 22 May 2011I wanted to play this game when it first came out, but put it off, so thought I'd rent it to see what it was like. I was disappointed to say the least. Although the game seems like it's a 'free-running' game, it's more like a 'linear-running' game, as most of the time there is only one real path you can take. The combat that's thrown in to make things exciting is either annoying (without a gun) or just easy and pointless (with a gun). The story is pretty lame too, with no real substance or drive. This game has lots of potential, but was just executed poorly. I wouldn't even really recommend this game for a rental, just get the demo and you've pretty much played the entire game.- Was this review helpful to you?
