Excellent game!!
By fodz (2 reviews) from London , 22 May 2011[Highly rated reviewer]
Mortal Kombat is a great game. Its great for novices and advanced players. Played it for 4 hours straight. A very addictive game, though online gaming can be slow at times. To search for games it can take a while and can be laggy at times. But is well worth it in the end. All in all, a very good game with plenty of gore and horror. Just the way it was meant to be!- Was this review helpful to you?

(27)There will be blood
By Brilliance (17 reviews) , 14 May 2013Mortal Kombat reboots have not been very good in the past decade. Titles like Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe seem to fall flat when it comes to the creativety and oberall addiction that the original three titles had. The ninth game in the series, simply named Mortal Kombat, has stopped the streak of terrible reboots. With the original games, the fatalities were incredibly violent for that time. What NetherRealm have done is taken that concept and multiplied it by one hundred. The game has a decent storyline, if not as good as their later work, Injustice: Gods Among Us. The visuals are stylish and the violence, brutally beautiful. If you can look past the characters Baraka, Sindel, Nightwolf and almost every other one, the game is very realistic. Unlike other games, if you deal damage, it does visual damage that sticks. For example: if you stab somebody with a knife, the wound will stick for the rest of the match. The moves can be pretty complicated to master but once you do, you will remember them easily. Mortal Kombat is a brilliantly, battling bloodbath that you will want to keep playing over and over again.- Was this review helpful to you?

Pretty Decent
By a customer , 04 Jan 2013Mortal Kombat comes back with a retelling of the original 3 titles. Many 2D-Fighters lack coherent story, this title does not. The story is well told through cutscenes (Yes, They're unskippable till your 2nd play through but you're an idiot if you want to skip them) It also has a fair amount of length which is nice to see from a fighter. Graphics are very nice. Gory. True Mortal Kombat style. Great for new fans AND returning customers.- Was this review helpful to you?

By Youbarstewards (10 reviews) , 08 Sep 2012how can anyone think this is good ? I have played every mortal kombat released (yes i was there when games consoles first appeared ) and although this incarnation has the blood the gore the special moves all in fantastic new graphic detail i can honestly say that its just like all its previous incarnations just comes down to block , punch , kick repetition you can do the special moves sure but dont try and link two together or youll be punished again and again by the games reactional AI unless ofcourse you have it on the lowest difficulty in which case wheres the challenge in that ? . And thats for the story mode was it written by children ? for children ? if so why is it a 18 certificate ? ive had more violent nights out drinking ,this game sucks it really really sucks nothing new nothing improved i cant think of a redeeming feature looks like another classic series is going down the toilet plz dont buy this or rent it , it was made by soulless people for souless people FINISH THEM FATAILITY- Was this review helpful to you?

Nothing new
By Collerz (2 reviews) , 24 Jul 2012The x-ray moves look cool but don't expect anything else new. I've played MK games in the past and I don't see any difference between them and this one so I couldn't be bothered playing it through. I'd rather play a game like fight night or UFC than the same MK from 5 years ago- Was this review helpful to you?
