  • Great game, but a little disappointing

    [Highly rated reviewer]

Having playing the original motorstorm as well as pacific rift and arctic edge I was looking forward to this and it lived up to most expectations. But I was a little disappointed over the 'story mode' section of the game. It didn't feel as deep as previous titles (and a little rushed perhaps)

Still a great game and well worth renting. Would I buy it after playing it? Probably not, but a very enjoyable game none the less.

Good game, good graphics, storyline helps immerse the player a little more, doesn't have the calibur to match previous games. Only wanted to give 3 and 1/2 stars

enjoyed this game, grafix aint the best ive seen, but you get to drive a multitude of vehicles, the courses get increasingly taxing but at a nice learn level. it is a case of boost, boost boost to win, but the crash scenes are so over the top it's fun to watch (slow-mo is fantastic). a fun driving game, kids will love it, and i had a bit of fun with it as well.

Great fun to play, a very enjoyable game, especially in 3d. The only negative thing is the graphics are not the best ive seen, but hardly worth moaning about. Well worth the rent

A solid racing game very remiscent of Disney's split second. Th crumbling city theme that runs through the races is done brilliantly and makes a stunning visual experience. However some players may get frustrated with the difficulty as objects appear so quickly it is very difficult run a track without crashing. Instead of being able to change difficulty there are 3 story modes; rookie, pro and veteran which allow for a gradual increase in difficulty which is a novel touch. Would definetly recommend renting!

  • Very high andrenaline "Mad Max" style racing game with great 3D

This is a very high andrenaline racing game with a pumping fast soundtrack (which might irritate your parents/grandparents as they do mine).

There is a story which is really crap and a deliberate sadistic tone of encouraging you to 'have fun' running over humans (humans easily get in your way, so you cant really avoid them). There are no blood splattering however, so it is kid friendly in that respect but most certainly not on a moral level! The crappy story is told in bit size stilted animation sequences, some of which are amusing though.

But its the races that are spectacular and that's all that matters in a game like this. You race through apocalyptic cities where all sorts of disasters are occurring as you race, from falling buildings to collapsing bridges as earthquakes, explosions and tsunamis occur.

For 3DTV owners, this is a must have as the 3D here is superb and serves as an excellent demo for your 3d set up. The best I have seen so far in a PS3 game, along with Uncharted 3.

The difficulty increases suitable well as you progress through the races. Its easy to finish as number 1 in most races as the game is quite forgiving.

I cant review multiplayer as I dont ever do multiplayer in games. My review is purely on single player experience.
