    [Highly rated reviewer]

The Wii is an odd console really - the likes of Super Mario Galaxy blow you away, and it's the prevalence of these first party games in the charts which makes you realise that games such as the 'Spore Wars' have quite a pedigree to live up to.

This isn't a BAD game, it's just not all that good. The gameplay is a mixture of tired platforming, simple puzzles with the tried and tested double jump mechanic. Even the weapon upgrades don't really feel all that special.

The fact that in modern games we STILL have to read what characters are saying, rather than hear them, or in this case read what they're saying while a 'Banjoo-esque' cutesy-looping-gibberish track imitates the characters voice, does start to annoy after a relatively short period of time.

Stick to Super Mario for the time being - this game is not really worth your time.
