as the title says this is one of the best games ive ever played it is full of features career where you control just 1 player was my favourite one of the best features is how it automatically downloads recent stats and the commentates will talk about them. so this is a highly recommended game.

  • Learning curve kills rental.

There's no doubt. This is an amazing sports game. But it's the steepest and most unforgiving learning curve i've ever encountered in any game.

You can play the game scoring ugly baskets and winning games by 2 points. But it's not fun and its frustrating. If you want to play like the pro's you're watching it's going to take a lot of practise. AND there's no tutorial so expect to spend a lot of time pausing the game and flicking to the control's.

Incredible realism, deep control's, and a host of game modes that mean you won't get bored before 2k12 comes out.

My player mode is fun, but very frustrating. It's incredibly hard to actually do well enough in the match's to get your players skills up, But somehow you still progress to drafts and playing first team basketball with poor performances.

+ It is beautiful. The best graphics I have ever seen in a game with slick menu's and replays reminiscent of high budget tv broadcasts.

Great game to buy. Terrible game to rent.

Due to EA Sports not releasing a title this year, I thought I'd try the 2K Sports game instead and I'm glad I did.

There are lots of game modes, from a quick exhibition match to a career mode where you begin as a rookie pre-draft and try to earn your place in the NBA or the NBA Development League. To be honest, this was the toughest and most irritating part of the game as, due to trying to earn skill points to improve your player, you could be playing for weeks on end before you're even at a level close to the others in the draft.

I've tried it twice - the first time I was drafted as 4th pick in the second round and the second time I was 17th pick in the first round but I had to do drill after drill to build up skill points so my player would improve before I completed the matches.

The season mode is brilliant, able to play as any side and trade, organise your roster and training schedule etc...It's definitely my favourite part of the game and with loads of adjustable settings, you can change things to your liking from ease of free throw to speed of game, length of quarter and even tendencies to shoot from certain positions on the court.

One great feature is the Michael Jordan link where you can complete Jordan Challenges including his Championship winning 1986 performance against the Celtics where you have to attempt to score his 63 points, 13 assists etc.

Obviously games are very opinion-based but I reckon I'll stick with 2K next year rather than going back to EA. Even if they bother releasing a game this time...

Best basketball sim to date. hard on higher levels, especially the Be a pro mode, or whatever the NBA 2 K version is. But its worth it, making me a much better player in total. Association mode is good, you can get really hands on with it. I might disagree with ratings of some players, but its generally spot on. Well worth renting if you've got a few days to burn lol I've been at it bout 4 weeks straight, started playing be a pro mode lol They've added a big pile of Michael Joirdan stuff that I havent even had a chance to play yet, and I haven't even went online with it yet, just shows u how much there is to keep you entertained. Its definitely a game for the serious basketball fan, but they are some fun modes for more casual fans
