Grand Theft Bear
By california6066 (47 reviews) from Stoke , 26 Jun 2010[Highly rated reviewer]
This game is great and is very fun to play with. I love how innocent the game is yet so deep and dark at the same time. In this game you will find yourself doing general little missions like killing bears for points, laying bear traps and picking up objects and items for your inventory. Although some people may think this game looks a bit dull i can tell you it isnt, this game is a great laugh and i will be playing this title for a while. It reminds me alot of Grand Theft Auto how you the control the bear and do similar missions in a sense to gain points. There are a great variety of weapons from guns to baseball bats to meat cleavers and animal legs. Its all great- Was this review helpful to you?

(61)Good for an hour then gets boring
By a customer , 02 Nov 2012I enjoyed this game for an hour or so but soon got pretty bored. The gameplay is really fun but the stages are basically all the same. It's worth a rent but if you're a serious gamer who cries about the littlest fault in a game I'd suggest you leave this off your rent list.- Was this review helpful to you?

Tried to 'bear' it!
By em-bear-assing (2 reviews) , 31 Oct 2012Not a bad game, quite difficult as you go on, but doesn't do enough to keep you hooked really 2/5.- Was this review helpful to you?

Bear-ly Entertaining
By gordalmighty (38 reviews) from Rhyl , 16 May 2012not what i expected at all!
supposed to be a violent game for adults but there is not blood or gore whatsoever. this game is too childish for adults yet too violent for children so i guess this game isn't really suitable for anyone. glad i rented it and didn't waste hard earned money on it.- Was this review helpful to you?

1 Hour Of Fun
By Spencerr (1 review) from Warrington , 14 Mar 2012I only played the first few stages and had my fill of this game. it is very repetitive, worth a quick rent but you would be bored after a few mins/hours- Was this review helpful to you?

Mixed feelings...
By Default (2 reviews) from Doncaster , 07 Jan 2012Attempting to write a review on this game when I gave it so little of my time seems wrong, however I do believe that it's a valid opinion. Frankly I feel it fault falls to the game not providing enough to interest me. With that little disclaimer out the way, here's some actual information -
The game itself I must applaud for a wonderful aesthetic, everything looks nice and it manages to keep its theme consistent even down to the music. The contrast this creates in relation to its gameplay (which is dark and comedic) is brilliant, everything feels genuinely tongue in cheek and lighthearted. The controls did feel tight and well suited, with even a mostly competent camera too.
What I was less pleased with was the repetitive nature of the game. Enemies were resilient yet unchallenging, taking too long to defeat. Relying on a score based system I feel drove the games focus too far from its single player ideals, to the point of forcing the player to replay areas due to not reaching the arbitrary (and unclear) goals necessary.
Overall this isn't a bad game, but it does fall short from being a good one. It doesn't feel to have a great grasp of pacing but for short intervals of play wouldn't be an issue. I'd struggle to think of similar games to compare this to, at best I'd have to describe it as the estranged lovechild of American McGee's Alice and Grand theft auto; It's colourful, different, cheeky but most damningly of all, monotonous.- Was this review helpful to you?
