Good title, terrible sequel.
By The_recluse (5 reviews) , 05 Nov 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
Its a good game overall, but if you are playing this game expecting a good sequel to the original Most Wanted, I wouldn't suggest it.
It has some good features, but takes away the visual customization feature completely, and takes away the ability to earn your vehicles, and lose something you earn when getting busted.
The driving resembles Carbon rather than Most Wanted, with a large part being drifting and slipstreaming, and somewhat Underground with earning Nos through small achievements like dodging traffic.
The gameplay style is completley different to the original Most Wanted. This one is based around going fast, dodging traffic, and making your own path, rather than the older Most Wanted being based around reaction time.- Was this review helpful to you?

(13)Everything you like about NFS is not in this game.
By Charli389 (1 review) , 17 May 2013For a person like me who is unbiased and loves all sort of arcade and sim racing on xbox and playstation platform i really disliked this game. This game is only difficult due to its poor controls which for me doesn't make me want to challenge myself but instead infuriates me and gets me extremely frustrated... unlike previous NFS titles every car in this feels like you're steering a canal boat and completely conflicts with the fact surrounds... end result is endless crashes. Indeed over time you do sort of get used to the controls but it doesn't make the game any more enjoyable to play. This would not seem so bad if EVERY tiny nudge you have ends in a 5second crash cut scene in or out of races... and i mean ANY sort light contact can trigger this off. Regularly a cut scene will end and leave directly behind another vehicle and it will result in another collision and another frustrating crash cut scene. This was easily the most annoying thing about the game for me and ruined it... imagine most corners you use are blind and 80% of the time a van or audi a3 comes out of nowhere, crashes into you, gets you into a cut scene then you go from 1st to 8th... in other NFS games chasing that lead again was a joy but in this... it just wasn't. Do not get this game because you were a fan of the great original because you will disappointed from the get go... lack of storyline, customization, manual transmission, decent pursuits, being able to go through road blocks or making obstacles for police, hiding spots... the list goes on! Everything that made it great has been taken out and you're left with a pretty face and a poor upgrade system. Overall the game CAN be very fun to play but for me i found it more frustrating and disappointing from lack of features i decided not to play it any more after a few hours If you've got the patience and curiosity is eating you from the inside give it a rent... but for the love of god don't buy!- Was this review helpful to you?

Same same
By Mistermister (5 reviews) , 22 Apr 201310 hours max gameplay that you might enjoy. Too easy and quite boring. Most races, ambush and sprint runs are near identical. I liked NFS until now.- Was this review helpful to you?

The worst NFS
By Jack80 (1 review) , 20 Feb 2013If you are looking for Need For Speed game don't bother with this one, this is not NFS, this is just another Burnout and that's a shame because NFS was the best.- Was this review helpful to you?

A good game but not like original
By Breath-taking (15 reviews) , 16 Dec 2012Finally the return of a free roam Need For Speed I have waited for this since undercover, yes hot pursuit had a free roam but you could do nothing. I like the new multiplayer features I think it a new more connected feel to the online multiplayer side of things rather than being stuck in lobby's all the time. The new you have to find the car to get the car system is one of the new features I dislike I prefer the saving up your money the race after race to earn that car you wanted so badly, it gave you such a good feeling when you purchased it. The lack of upgrades offered also annoys me I liked the old version when you could customise your car so much more, truly have the car look the way you want from the paint type to the spoiler. This game is great but doesn't feel like the original (my favourite NFS game) yet is an amazing game regardless with stunning new graphics and the cars are amazing the new multiplayer adds a whole new aspect and feel to the game and so I still believe it's a good game despite it not being like the orginal- Was this review helpful to you?
