Insanely Frustrating
By ToastyFestival (1 review) , 16 Oct 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
Threading your way through thick traffic at high speed can be difficult at the best of times. But combine this with insane traffic that changes lanes into other traffic causing mass car pileups, opponents that seem more concerned with causing you to crash than actually racing and cinematic cop take-downs that steal control of your car and run you off the road or crash the car; and you have a game that seems designed to drive you nuts.
I spent more time trying to avoid the games 'features' than I did trying to race. The main single player is decidedly short unless you do the challenges where you will repeat each race for hours while you wait for the AI to take their pills and stop doing insane things and the multi-player is a joke where your opponents teleport around the track.
All in all a nice idea with pretty visuals and utterly terrible execution. Not a game that the NFS franchise should be proud of.- Was this review helpful to you?

poor and boring.
By sdmilne2092 (6 reviews) from harwich , 04 Sep 2012my review on need for speed the run.
the game had nice visuals but the lack of customization is very poor and lacks the rush of racing games in previouse genres such as most wanted and carbon. so in all fairness this game is pretty poor in the racing part.
story
the story i found was ok but a bit to plain like win races and blah blah blah. and it all involves the money as per usual. but in the sense of the racing experience is essential but has no major goal.
game play
the game play is a bit rugged in drifting round corners and I found annoying in some ways. the races are a bit to samie and boring and the game is very short it took me about 10 hours to actually complete this game. but the police in this game actually gives some sort of pleasure in smashing up their cars.
music
the music i found properly the best of it all. they slow music to suit the means of talking sequences and abviosely the fast paced music to suit the lively aspects of the race.
worth a rent but don't get your hopes up for a good game.- Was this review helpful to you?

Painfull !!! Leave well alone.
By RobieV (2 reviews) , 26 Aug 2012Where to start? I love the concept of a cannonball style race, a full on coast to coast race. This game has took that idea and, destroyed it. The fact that you HAVE to complete set tasks is, for me the main spoiler. It is also pretty repetitive, overtake a certain amount of rivals, make up time, have a chase from the police. All of these over and over, all in small 5 min and less stints or stages. If you fail any of these then you have to try that stage again. For me it would have been a lot better to have the full on race with fuel stops, eating breaks and fatigue all being a factor. Maybe have little mini games to sabotage the opponents cars even.- Was this review helpful to you?
