Brillaint. Kept the kids glued. a definite buy
By a customer from edinburgh , 24 Feb 2009[Highly rated reviewer]
Will be buying this ASAP. Brilliant game. Easy contols and enough puzzle elements to keep kids of all ages amused for hours.. Our youngest used the nunchuck and followed eldests contoller pointer so you can have 2 playing at once and helping each other.- Was this review helpful to you?

(8)Wonderful Game
By Gecko05 (1 review) , 06 May 2013Absolutely fantastic title. Typical Nintendo, make an strategy game but make it vibrant, full of character and accessible but retain the challenge, full of charm.- Was this review helpful to you?

A great memory
By CaveRaver (3 reviews) , 20 Mar 2013First of all, lets point out that 5% of gamers will love this game, and the rest will just not see the appeal. Like most gamecube games, this game was all about the experience not the simulation, graphics deeply motivating back story or characters. Its about the experience of discovering another world oddly similar to our own, but in a completley different way. Personally the first few days of this game provided the greatest gaming memory I have to date, better than the hologuise antics of Destroy All Humans, Aeris's death at the hands of Sepiroth, or the Pearl Harbour scene that introduces MoH Airborne. As a big fan of both strategy and natural beauty, this game couldn't have been any more perfect for me. But to look at it critically. Its both a chilled and very warm game. If you like games such as Kingdom for keflings, Sims, Viva Pinata.. Flower? It might be your kind of game. Its all about being able to appreciate a bit of simulated forest floor while laughing at yourt minions running into the mouths of cute voracious carnivores.. which could technically be herebivores. Anyway, If you like a slow pace and a bit of thinking, great game. If you stick to explosions, tension, and epic stories of mass woe and unprecedented anarchy, this game will probably be exactly what you want to avoid.- Was this review helpful to you?

Nintendo classic
By a customer , 08 Feb 2012The GameCube version of the game was a classic many years back and I immediately became a fan ever since but completely forgot about it. Years later I was very happy to know they re-mastered it by adding it to their line of new play control! for the Nintendo wii.
This game is completely dazzling in every way: the game-play, the scenery, the enemies and, of course, the pikmin!
I love this game! I would extremely recommend it; you won't regret it; this game will turn you into a fan and you won't look back.
The only draw back though is the short hours of game-play but that's just a small drawback; the games very fun to play nonetheless.
Great strategy game, I can't wait to play pikmin 2 again.- Was this review helpful to you?

Boring and annoying
By a customer from Bristol , 17 Mar 2010I'm going to be the odd one out and say I didn't like this game. (Pretty much everyone here and on the net has given it 8-9 out of 10)
I've given this game 1 star purely for the originality and graphics really. I've never seen anything quite like it, and the backgrounds are nicely drawn.
I'm finding the speed of the game very difficult.
It's very very slow.
Just having to watch the onions (kinda flying homes for the Pikmin) lift off and land again every time a new in-game 'day' ends and another starts, is driving me to despair. Can I really not skip that video? Really? EVERY time?
I've also had to disable the music in the options, because that same tune over and over was really getting on my nerves.
Ironically for a game that makes you watch in-game videos, and makes some things painfully slow, I find the in-game 'days' run by quite quickly, so I'm not even doing very well at it.
I can't imagine I'll be keeping this long. I'm glad I didn't buy it.- Was this review helpful to you?

Twee overload!
By vodzurk (3 reviews) from Bristol , 15 Aug 2009A very quirky game indeed! And very cutesy and twee, but still relaxing and challenging.
Each area has a set of puzzles that you must use your Pikmin to solve. It's hard to describe, but lots of fun to see in action.
At times it may come across as a teeny bit 'slow'... like 'hurry up and get on with this scene'... but I found it fantastic for winding down after a long day at the office.
I now have Pikmin 2 on rental, and it's looking just as good :).- Was this review helpful to you?
