Well just a few simple words for this dire game.. DO NOT RENT,DO NOT BUY.

It is truely shocking you never know in which direction you are going and the suprise attacks from these aliens leave a lot to be desired.

This is one of the worst games I have ever played, well with the exception of JUMPER.

I actually enjoyed this game more than Doom3 back when it was first released on pc. So I returned for a retry on the Xbox 360, the game is great like everyone says for Achievements, ranges from 10 - 20 for each level. The graphics are a bit dated now and combat system weak but this game is played for the experience of the walk through with all the bizarre ideas of alien technology it throws at you. And they even got the gravity right, that later game crysis so failed on. It would be good if you didnt have to shoot anything as I say the weapons are so lackluster.

This isn't really a bad game. It's definitely worth a rental, but I wouldn't bother with it for Multiplayer since there's way better out there. That means there's little opportunity to find multiplayer matches. Prey just can't compete in the Call of Duty age.

The game itself is a pretty generic 'Run-and-Gun' FPS, with some very novel uses of Portals and gravity-based puzzles. The weapons are suitably beefy and organic (given that they're all basically bits of the aliens you pull off of them) and it's pretty gory. Aliens blow up into Doom-like chunks. Gibs aplenty.

The reason it's an easy game is that it's actually impossible to die. When you do 'die' you basically go to the 'Spirit World' where you shoot a few flying spirits and then immediately return to where you died, complete with health and spirit restored (the more flying spirits you kill in the brief time you're in the Spirit World the more health and spirit you return with.) It's a novel system, and it takes the worry out of dying.

The levels are all Point-A-to-B levels, with your 'Spirit Bird' that guides you along the way. It's not really possible to get lost, just look out for the Hawk! There's also a 'Spirit Walk' ability that works a lot like Astral Projection and enables you to attack enemies, use switches, and walk through Force Fields to solve puzzles. The puzzles are all pretty easy, with nothing taxing. They're just 'Enter Spirit World, Press Switch, Return to body.'

The story is quite good for a videogame. It seems like the usual 'Aliens attack us for generic reason X' but it develops into quite a good Sci-Fi tale. It's not brilliant, but at least the Developers tried something different.

Overall it's very enjoyable in the brief time it takes to play it (22 Levels at about 15-20mins a level) and so it definitely comes recommended as a Rental.

Had downloaded the demo, Fantastic. So i proceeded to get the game, what a disappointment, after the first level the game becomes very repetitive

this game isnt too bad... not the most enjoyable. The graphics arent that good, the story isnt really that good, and there are alot of annoying parts where u cant see what to do for ages, and then its something stupid like shoot a wall :P it tries too be like too many other games in my opinion. It has a few puzzles like old tomb raider games, its a bit like bioshock, the darkness mixed together. I would suggest that if u have played those other games i have mentioned, then its not really worth buying this!

i cant beleive people are crying that you get lost in this game, its pretty linear, if you want to play really easy games play the putting on some socks then taking them off again game, its free and you dont need a console and will keep the sort of people that dont like this game amused for hours.

really, this isnt a hard game, its basically a shooter game that reminds me of quake 4 but has the added joy of puzzles, puzzles that require a little more thought than most puzzles in shooters theses days. theres no flashing light saying 'press here' you have to work it out for yourself. you dont have to be a member of mensa to get to the end of this game though.

i really like this game, its a couple of years old now so its not the most amazing graphics but its not shoddy looking and it offers a little more than run and gun shooting. the start is a bit slow but once it gets going its fun.

if you liked quake 4 and you liked half life/the orange box then you will like this
