I got PES 2011 a week ago and i have barely put it down !
Its a much needed change of pace (literally and figuratively).
I'm quite an experienced PES player so i think i picked up the game faster than a non-PES player but its still taken me a good 10 matches i would say to get the hang of the new system of play.
That being said its far more rewarding when you do finally put the ball in the net!
Stringing together 10-20 passes as arsenal now 'feels' like your watching arsenal play.
The biggest disappointment for me was the way in which pacey players have been dealt with.
It may just be the way in which i have been playing but it seems any fast players are turned into very average speed players as soon as they touch the ball!
Off the ball they retain their speed but on the ball they might as well be Heskey in the speed department.
As i think it says there are a plethora of new clubs and some new online versions of master league and become a legend.
I havent tried the online versions yet but the offline versions are great!
They are both enhanced in all the right areas (in my opinion).
Especially become a legend in which the manager will make sure to tell you how he wants you to play in the match. This can range from booting the ball upfield to just trying to hold on to it for the last 5 mins. The AI has a much needed improvement as well, they no longer refuse to pass you the ball if they are in front of you near the goal and also play much better passes. These are nice touches and with the improved engine makes the mode more rewarding and fun.
Overall i think a great improvement over the old games but as with any PES you need at least 10 matches to get the hang of it! Still very rewarding especially when playing with friends!- Was this review helpful to you?

not a fan
By sduk (80 reviews) from Smethwick , 20 Oct 2011Im definatley a FIFA fan.
I tried hard to get into this but found the gameplay sluggish , the controls un responsive and inaccurate and the menu's overwhelming.
I didnt like the music either and soon turned it off.
Played a few games , just coudlnt get into like i could with FIFA soccer.
Not for me but you may like it- Was this review helpful to you?

previous football favourite falls further behind fifa sadly
By Minty8 (196 reviews) from Randalstown, Antrim , 27 Jul 2011Its an odd Pes, its better than the horrible 2010, but still not great, which I find very sad. I used to count Pes as the best football title but Pes just seems so far behind fifa now, the passing isn't as smooth, the pro mode leaves you feeling less in control (though the being subbed by manager is good. But then being told I missed a sitter by manager after the game, after I was fuming at the terrible finish my player made when I tapped shoot one on one drove me further nuts.
It just falls further behind Fifa each year in my opinion. Worth a play but not to buy for me, hope the next installment is an improvement.- Was this review helpful to you?

worst ever pro evo
By a customer , 27 Jul 2011This is the worst Pro Evo of all time!
Everything that was great about pro evo has been removed.
Save your time and money and play an older version.- Was this review helpful to you?

Shoddy compared to FIFA 11
By a customer from UK , 09 Feb 2011Yeah, they're nice graphics and all, but PES still hasn't caught upto FIFA. The game play is rubbish, and the 'create a legend' is just a rip off of FIFA's 'be a pro' option.
If you're looking to rent/buy a football game, go for FIFA.- Was this review helpful to you?
