Well this month I could only afford to buy one game. I chose infamous but I wish I'd bought this instead. Playing as Alex Mercer you wake up in chaotic, zombie infected Manhatten as a monster. A really supercool tank smashing human eating monster so it's alright afterall. The powers in this are really fun. More emthasis is on close combat than in infamous, and theres lods of blood with everybonecrunching attack. This is a far more adult game. The controls are smooth and just make playing easy. There is a great lvling system for all thepowerswhich makes playing the game really rewarding as Alex gets exponentially more powerful the more effort you put in ie; with side quests and finding hidden objects. If I'm honest the story isn't shakespear but theres an interestingfeature called the web of intruige. you fill itin by consuming targets and therefore thier memories. This is fun because you can piece the story together really slowly and really helps you relate to Alex. The game is not perfect although the graphics are great the framerate can slow sometimes. This is understandable when you take into account everythings so hectic. Also some missions are hard. No not, hard, frustrating. I can forgive this though cos playing monster has never been so much fun!

As an alternative to InFAMOUS, Prototype stands alongside. Where it differs though are the abilities and skills your character gains. Like the way that the character could learn more about his situation by consuming the bodies of certain enemies.

Maybe I have been spoilt by games such as Assassins Creed, Batman Arkham City and Skyrim, but this game is rubbish. Bizarre story, unimaginative graphics and nothing to keep me interested in the 30 minutes of gameplay that I tried - returned the same day that it arrived!

This takes a bit of getting used to control wise, but if you can accept the concept that you are the weapon as opposed to picking up weapons on route, and you can get along with the main character, then you'll love this game. great storyline, excellent grafix, and a nice twist on being able to absorb your enemy's personality / skills is a nice touch. really considering buying this. £14 on Amazon, this is a steal.

I love this game. I previously owned it at one point but then sold it stupidly. Its an open sandbox game where the protagonist you play alex mercer is basically a genetic freak. His powers take abit to attain so if you just want it to go round absorbing people killing the zombies or destroying the army you will have limited powers until you play through the missions. Once you do a few missions you get all the powers then go on a non stop killing spree.
