Simple Brilliant
By a customer from Loughborough , 27 Jun 2006[Highly rated reviewer]
I sat and played this with my mate over a few days. We completed it in 17 hours and i can honestly say i loved every minute of it.
The controls are now infinitely better than previous titles which makes it so much easier to move around.
Its supplied my greatest ever gaming moment avoiding the chainsaws as i jumped off a ledge as it flew inches over my head. Land and reload as 2 chainsaw guys jump down infront of me and look at eachother as if to say 'where did he go' as i take aim and fire a shotgun into them from point blank range sends them flying forwards. The moment could have only been better if there was a button to tap them on the shoulder and give them a big sloppy looney tunes esque kiss before blowing them away.
Some scary moments, tough bosses and much better guns. Great great game!!!!- Was this review helpful to you?

By a customer , 13 Feb 2012I got this as I wanted to use it to compare a game in two formats PS2 and Gamecube I do wish i had not for pure visual effect I would say the Gamecube has it but as a gamer sorry guys stick with the ps2
I just found it flawed the story line is almost the same on both formats the cube gives far better image and set shots but it falls down with the game play so as the titles says NEXT- Was this review helpful to you?

Not-Zombie busting joy and gruesomeness!
By Megatron (7 reviews) from Glasgow , 30 Nov 2010I have just finished this game and absolutely loved it. It is so massive in scale taking you from a 'modestly' grim start in the woods to all kinds of disgustingly brilliant locations and monsterific combat. The atmosphere and scenery is very eerie, detailed and imaginative, lots of really great boss battles.- Was this review helpful to you?

Best. Gamecube. Game. Ever
By Tarquin (5 reviews) from Derby , 29 Jan 2009Ok, I like to smash a few zombie heads. But this game is the KING of Zombie (or Ganados not-zombie) smashing. Its a long quest - upwards of twelve hours definatively. Its tough - a few battles you WILL just barely limp out of. And it just looks BEAUTIFUL. Walking around the exterior castle grounds , I had to stop for a moment and just gape at how realised the surroundings are. Capcoms aim to break out of the traditional survival horror genre pays off in spades. The weapons and aiming system are radically different from RE1,2,3,0 and CV:X ,but once you get used to it, you wonder how you ever tried anything else. The Merchant is a very clever idea, forcing you to think and optimise money, situations and firepower. Character wise, the game hits top form as well. Ashley the Pres' daughter isn't too annoying (always a plus - love the three way chat between Leon, Luis and her in the 'Shack siege' section - also Tough!!). Salazar is hilarious - gets his just desserts. And its nice to see Ada again. Of Course, maximum Kudos has to go to the FMV Dynamic sequences. Keeping you alert and on your toes by a combination of frantic button jabbing is a major plus. There are so many great moments here I could fill a whole novel - the two (or three)encounters with El Gigante, the Del Lago lake monster, the Verdugo in the sewers (very creepy), the out of control cart, the Regenerators - I could go on. But pride of place for me goes to the glorious 90 minutes I spent with the two battles with Krauser on the Island. The first one especially- two minutes of pure FMV and button combos- is just a JOY to play and watch. And in between , that scrap on the suspended crates with the U3 ('It') - and the corridor of beams , straight out of the Resident Evil film. Just absolutely fantastic. Worth every moment of the 3 month hire I had on this one. Nice one, Capcom - Nice one, Lovefilm - roll on RE5 in March!- Was this review helpful to you?

Simply, THE BEST
By a customer from FIFE , 16 Dec 2008This is the best game of it's genre - ever!
Stunning graphics and smooth game-play combined with great characters, action, scares and puzzles. Those annoying backwards control issues have been fixed and you are now left with perfection!
Whilst hardcore old school R.E fans may not consider this a true sequel, this one has a huge fan base all of it's own. And when you play it, you completely understand why it has such huge ratings and reviews
Once you start playing you don't ever want to stop. Highly addictive and SUPERB.
If you are a serious gamer and love the horror/action genre, this is THE game for you. And even if you don't, you will absolutely love it anyway!
The creme de la creme of games. 10 out of 10.- Was this review helpful to you?

Excitement, she wrote.
By a customer from England , 10 Apr 2007Hardcore fans don't all see this as a R.E. game as it's not an rpg but I've played all the games and love this one.
The zombies are replaced by deeply religious Spaniards, which means they will try their best to kill you as opposed to just shuffling towards you for a bite.
The graphics look better then the PS2 version the same game.- Was this review helpful to you?
