Awful

Cumbersome controls ruin what could have been a decent game. The wiimote is woefully underused, it's only function being targetting. Honestly, you can't even point at items in the inventory screen but have to navigate using the control stick, which is soo frustrating.
In-game, the fact the control stick is used for both character movement and camera movement when aiming your gun means you can't move and shoot at the same time, so in every fight you just end up rooted to the spot, plugging away at slowly shuffling zombies until they eventually die, which is really quite boring. And woe betide you if a zombie should somehow make it behind you, as it takes a good few seconds to turn around, by which time you're already dead.
And another thing. Maybe I've just been spoiled playing too many realistic war games, but when I shoot something in the face from a foot away I expect it to die, not groan briefly in pain then hit me with a pitchfork. This applies to both humans and zombies in the game and sort of ruins the whole experience. Instead of being scary, enemies are simply tiresome.
All of which, unfortunately, makes for a very dull and frustrating experience. Bottom line - games should be fun. This game is a chore.- Was this review helpful to you?

(84)Addicted...
By a customer from London , 02 Feb 2009I have completed this game & un locked the specials & I am still addicted to it.
Great action game. Graphics are good & it feels very realistic. I play it a couple of hours a week on the Mercenaries stage & unfortunately for my GF there are no signs of my enthusiasm waning.
It's very gory so maybe not for the younger ones...- Was this review helpful to you?

Damn good game
By a customer from North Walsham , 29 Jan 2009Good Graphics for the system. Controls can be a bit quirky, but that is a minor inconvenience. Took me over 20 hours to complete the main game, then that unlocks a sub game which adds to its longevity. It was also worth going back to the beginning and trying out the different paths that can be taken throughout the game. Quite atmospheric, loads of action. Any wiii owner should have this game.- Was this review helpful to you?

'Resident Evil 4'The Best Game for Wii
By a customer from Shropshire , 11 Dec 2008What a game just finished it after 41hours, if you liked silent Hill 1 on the PS1
you will love this, it will send your heart into overdrive on some of the scenes,
and there's all-ways away, to survive if you can find it.
You do have to use the WII remote buttons in numerous scenes.
You do need to be over 15 to play not for children.
The only down side is, that I'm having withdraw symptoms!!
Have Fun- Was this review helpful to you?
