A barnstorming 3D blockbuster.

Wow, what a surprise from the little 3DS. Whilst I thought the potential for home console quality games on the little machine wasnt there, I have to say resident evil revelations has proved me (mostly) wrong. What we have here is a full-feateured resident evil game in the style of resident evil 5 that takes place between resident evil 4 and 5, detailing chris and Jill's time in the BSAA organisation referenced in resi 5.
That action takes place mostly on a cruise ship as you come under attack from various bio-organic weapons.
The first thing that strikes you are the sumptuous graphics. Capcom have really outdone themselves here, this is far and away the best looking game on 3DS right now. The 3d looks absolutely gorgeous too and is a perfect fit for the now signature 'over the shoulder' perspective of post resident evil 4 entries in the series. It controls pretty well too, though the circle pad pro is a must I would say if you fancy taking on the harder difficulties and excelling at RAID mode (it allows you to move, aim and shoot all at the same time you see).
Whilst the framerate does take a bit of a plunge at times, this is still remarkably close to the full-fat resident evil experience, with several excellent scares, some great boss fights, wonderfully executed shooting mechanics and a great atmospheric setting in the form of the cruise ship.
The main campaign is around 10 hours (more if you tackle the harder difficulty and new game +) and the all-new raid mode is icing on the cake. The online co-op for raid mode is a fantastic addition and really boosts the games lifespan after the main story's done, especially with the compulsive and addictive levelling up and weapon collection and upgrading mechanics.
If you're a 3DS owner its a must-buy, frankly.- Was this review helpful to you?

One Of The Best Console Like Games Possible for 3DS!
By a customer , 16 Apr 2012Excellent game. Unbelievable console like graphics in the pam of your hand. It was hard for me to believe before actually playing it. I would suggest playing it with Circle Pad Pro. Otherwise you might not like it I am not sure because I have only played its with Circle Pad Pro. If you are serious gamer and want to play console like game on 3DS this game will offer you some quality time. The other (even better than that) quality console like game that you can play with Circle Pad Pro is (Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - 3DS). So its not a bad idea to spent a little extra money on Circle Pad Pro. I have rented both of these games and really enjoyed!- Was this review helpful to you?

Back to old school Resi?
By Cringles88 (4 reviews) , 20 Jan 2012I've played the demo on the 3DS a few times just to make sure I got everything out of it. I can tell you, this game looks great, the graphics are amazing for the DS. The controls/shooting is similar to 4 & 5. You can change to first person when shooting, or over the shoulder.
The 3D is really good.
The controls are great once your used to them.
I jumped twice during the demo!
Sound is very good to.
Atmosphere is creepy.
You can move while shooting!
This is RE how I like it, back to the days were it was creepy/scary. It reminds me of the RE remake for the GameCube. I predict this game will still be action packed, but I also think it will have the creepy atmosphere that RE 4+5 lacked.
Get excited folks, if you miss the days before RE4, You won't be disappointed, at least I hope not! I'm very excited for this title.- Was this review helpful to you?
