don't waste your time I liked the first one as it was different now nothing has changed the plot more ludicrous than is readable all the guns are week Evan the rocket luncher is a 3hit kill on the medium sized enemies there is no clear path through the levels ,every were is dimly light and is full of visual glitches

Firstly this review is for the campaign mode only. Resistance 1 was the first title I owned for the PS3 and I loved it. When Resistance 2 came out the critics slated it so I never bought it. Hence the Rental. Well I cant see why it got slated because the 'story mode' is almost as awesome as the original Resistance. Some things are actually better. For instance In FOM you could sometimes pick off the 'trogs' at distance and their buddies wouldnt react. Now the AI is somewhat better but not on a Clairvoyant level (ala Battlefield 3) and the Enemy will hear shots or see kills and react to them.

The Lenght of the Campaign isnt overly long but I play a couple of hours a night and it kept me going for a week (opposed to the COD's that are usually over in 2 nights).

I think that the reason this game got such bad reviews is because of COD 4 which was released after the original Resistance. That became the Benchmark for 'Shooters' and its brilliant online play set a new level in gaming. A lot of this games bad reviews seem focused on the weakness of its online play.

The gameplay is slick. The story has some depth and is not a thinly vailed kill fest. Its not gonna win any oscars though :). The action keeps coming and there arent any of the boring, almost 'cut scene levels' that some games now seem to employ to pan out play time.

If you like a good Campaign mode thats not over in a flash then this is well worth a rent!!

Disappointing after such a great 1st title, this is fairly run of the mill for a shooter. Great graphics tho...

i played the first one thought it was ok at best not amazing but not great, now the few things i liked about the first tey just got rid of and added more clunky gameplay then ever, dont waste your time so many good fps out there.
