Good Fun
By a customer from Northwood , 22 Dec 2008[Highly rated reviewer]
I thought Rock Band 2 was definitely better than the first one. However, the only problem I have about these sort of games, along with the Guitar Hero franchise, is that the campaign modes have a lot potential, but lacks drive. I say these games are only for those who either: have lots of opportunities for friends to come over and play it; or that they are very eager to get to the Expert rank, which does get boring after a while.- Was this review helpful to you?

(19)Great but destined for bad luck!
By elizapdushku (6 reviews) from Wallasey , 28 Aug 2011[Highly rated reviewer]
It had been a while since my Rock Band guitar was used so I thought being an owner of Rock Band I'd give Rock Band 2 a try. I got the email saying it had been sent out but it never arrived. I reported it and was sent a replacement. This time it turned up. Despite the wait I wasn't disappointed with the game. That was until my Rock Band guitar controller broke on me.
What little time I did spend playing the game I enjoyed. I liked the fact I could play tracks I had downloaded to play in the previous Rock Band and that the track listing for Rock Band 2 was once again very varied from old bands like Journey, The Who and Kansas to present day bands like Disturbed, The Donnas and Lacuna Coil.
When I get myself a new guitar controller I might try my luck at renting this again, hopefully with less bad luck.
A must for all fans of music sim games.- Was this review helpful to you?

VERY Disappointed
By a customer from Glasgow , 06 May 2010As the title says, i was extremely disappointed with RB2.
I LOVE this genre of game.I have Band Hero, Guitar Hero WT etc and i was looking forward to playing Rockband however after playing the first few songs i felt the game was poor, i thought i'd carry on regardless but having got halfway though the 'tour mode' i was still thinking the game is nowhere near as good as the previously mentioned titles.
The song list has a few great songs but as a whole again i'm sorry to say i was very let down by most of the tracks on the game.
Another thing i found frustrating is that in order to play all of the tracks in qyuickplay you need to unlock them in tour mode. So if your just starting and want a quickplay you have a list of around 16 very poor songs.
If your looking for a game in the Music Genre i'd try a few different titles before going for Rockband 2.- Was this review helpful to you?

The best music game ever!!!
By josh14rocks (2 reviews) from Largs , 07 Apr 2010Rock band 2 is the sequel to the first rock band and it is amazing!!! You will have hours of fun with your friends working your way up as a band to the expert difficulty level!!! :) there is also easy for beginners!!! :) make sure you have a guitar hero or rock band guitar or drumkit to play with for this game unlike some guitar hero games you cant play with the controller!!!! I hope everybody enjoys rock band 2 just as much as I did and it is really worth the rent!!! :)- Was this review helpful to you?

Not Bad
By a customer from Hastings , 22 Mar 2010I read the reviews after the game had been dispatched and feel i was slightly mislead by a couple of reviews. If you get the game on xbox 360 format, all of the instruments you get with GHWT DO work with rock band. So you can play everything. And there IS a single player option, great if you're like me and you have no friends! All in all a good game, but I personally prefer the selection of songs you get on GH as the ones i like on rock band 2 are also on GHWT, and it also doesn't seem as challenging as it's competitor. Still, well worth a play if you are into the whole music sim genre.- Was this review helpful to you?

A good game
By ericismetal (12 reviews) from Tredegar , 18 Nov 2009Compared to the first Rock Band this is an improvement, the track list is a lot better although there are a small percentage that is mearly filler in my opinion. I believe the point of Rock Band 2 is not only to play the 65+ songs on the disk, but also to download from the 3000+ available on the Xbox live marketplace.
I do like this game, i own the first Rock Band game and many of the bugs have been addressed this time. however, if you are reading this looking to rent a music game you should do yourself a big favour and rent Guitar Hero 5 (or Guitar Hero Metallica) instead- Was this review helpful to you?
