Be aware Socom fans!

If you are a die hard socom fan you may find this game disappointing as they have made a lot of changes compared to the previous socom games, some of the game modes have disappeared and the camera angles are frustrating, things like no grenade arc make the game kind of tedious so I don't think the die hard socom fans will be happy with the changes
However the game visually is stunning and there is still fun to be had with the game, I played the BETA and found the fluidity of movement with the character brilliant even though the camera angles annoyed me, I am used to seeing the whole player a la socom confrontation which feels more of a socom game than this one. This was a preorder game for me which has now turned into a rental because I am not sure of the longetivity and it needs some stuff altered which to be fair to Zipper Interactive it seems that is going to happpen from reading the forums, it seems like Sony have dictated what should happen in the game making the game more mainstream like the CoD and Battlefield series thus impacting the hardcore fanbase, so I would urge players to rent before they buy as it may disappoint! 3.5 stars would be a 5 if they made it more like Socom should be!- Was this review helpful to you?

SOCOM or NOCOM?
By G1RL-R4C3R (2 reviews) from preston , 09 Oct 2011Saw this in the shops and decided to rent it, i have not played on-line yet so cannot comment... however, after playing a couple of missions i decided to look on 'internet auction site' and bought a copy for less than a tenner.
Great game and best SOCOM so far.

The main reason for enjoying this so much, is the online games which are great fun across PSN with your friends or in a random party. I think other ratings of this game that are below a 3, do not reflect the playability- ok you expect top notch graphics, but to me gameplay is so much more important.
