  • Nice concept....

I'm a fan of both the Saw films (the first couple anyway) and of horror survival games. Konami used to be my favorite developers, but they went their separate ways after Silent Hill 4, and it shows. Anyway, back to the game. I started playing it less than a week ago, and completed it last night. That's an extremely short playing time! Not exactly challenging.... nor value for money. The plot is what you'd expect from Saw, a series of 'tests' set for detective Tapp from Jigsaw. You have to solve puzzles and make your way through many traps along the way to face your ultimate choice. The graphics are nice, atmosphere and tension. As I said, the plot is acceptable. The three main things that let this game down are - 1 - The game play time - just awful! no value for money at all!! 2- The combat system - really dreadful and SO frustrating! and 3 - Repetitive puzzles. All in all, a good concept badly brought to life. This is a game I'd most definitely recommend you rent for a week (much cheaper, and you'll complete it by then anyway!) Do you want to play a game?..... (then rent it!)

  • Worth a try but not a second playthrough.

I liked the first 3 films but after that I lost interest but I took a chance on this game and overall I enjoyed it. Some great puzzles and solid story, unfortunately let down by a flawed combat system and unintelligent AI. Completed the game in about 8 hours and wasn't really drawn to a second run through it, still worth a try if you enjoy the odd puzzle and like the Saw movie's.

  • Very tedious and grueling gameplay

I had high hopes for this game, And I admit that I did enjoy some of the game, But everything that good about it was massively outweighed by the amount of bad points, for one The combat is atrocious, as soon as you start getting hit you literally have to run away and make sure the next hit is yours because otherwise you will just get hit constantly until death due to how the button used to defend and roll out of the way rarely works. another negative to this game is that its full of very pointless additions that make it extremely annoying to play such as for the entire game you walk around bare footed which causes you to loose health when walking over glass which is pretty much everywhere, I really don't see the point in this being in the game, Is this truly necessary?

the thing I hate most is that you are constantly put into stupid situations regarding puzzles. And the puzzles don't change much throughout the game, Making it very repetitive.

Id say the only reason I rated 2 star and not 1 is the fact that I have watched the saw films and I like how they relate to the films on various occasions, My point being, This game is utter trash but if you are a massive saw fan then it has some redeeming traits. If you have never seen a saw film stay far away from this game.

A great game for saw fans, fun and challenging, I managed the full 1000G in about 7 hours, so if you fancy a good game or score whoring, this is a good choice!

  • Love the films but...

...this game is disappointing. Good atmosphere and graphics and an intersting storyline but so many more negatives. As others have said, the fight controls are awful and the puzzles very repetitive. Another big problem for me was that the autosaves/checkpoints are not frequent enough. I found myself searching a load of containers, doing a couple of puzzles and maybe a fight, only to then walk through a tripwire, get my head blown off and have to go back and do it all over again.

Sent the game back before I'd even completed it as I was fed up with it.

  • Exactly how you imagine a saw game should be!

Very much a saw game, Lots of Traps and puzzles to solve and things tie in with the movies in parts. Graphics and audio are pretty good although i must note that if it were not for the lighter and flashlight you wouldn't see much!!! The game is longer than you think, i clocked up 15 hours of gameplay although i do like to explore more than most people i guess.

Achievement hunters will also like this game as most achievements won't give you many problems and all can be obtained in a single play through although if you miss any you can replay checkpoints and chapters. Strangely the game reminded me of 'condemned' (xbox360 game) in the way it plays.

It's a good game and a good rent for a few days!
