Good idea, strange result
By a customer from South Wales , 30 Oct 2009It was all a bit strange really! We were expecting to enjoy this game as a family but the tasks are very long-winded and even the adults stuggled to understand what to do to complete some sections.
The concept would appeal to young children but it is too difficult for that age group so not to sure who this would appeal to?- Was this review helpful to you?

Good fun, like the sims is supposed to be
By beccaandjay (38 reviews) from Manchester , 25 Feb 2009I am a serious Sims lover. So i had to try this game out.
I have played the sims, the sims 2 (including all expansion packs. on the PC and on the MAC.)
I also played my sims kingdom for the wii and sims 2 for the DS.
I am a sims freek hehe.
Most kids want to be friends with animals (i know i did, i wanted a pet fox when i was young)
and this is probably the safest way for them to do that. It's fun, interesting and it taught me loads about animals and plants.
The goal is to make your way through the land and to make all the animals get along (as much as they can.) When you use the discover tool you learn things about that animal. it shows you what that animal's favorite foods are. Also when you pick up a rabbit you can place it onto a patch of something (e.g. carrots, radishes, lettuce, foxgloves, etc) and if the rabbit doesn't like it there would be a heart about its head with a cross through it. This is another way of teaching your kids what not to feed a pet.
I introduced my 8 year old nephew (who is autistic) to this game and he loved it, now he begs me to take him to the near by park (they have deer and bunnies there.) He has turned into a wildlife fountain of knowledge, he would see a mouse on a tv show and turn to me and tell me what their favorite foods are.
I personally am not a cat lover im a dog lover and so i jumped right into throwing the cat into the lake on this game but you don't have to do that. This game isn't about throwing cats into the lake, its about gaining the trust of animals and making friends with them. You can pick up the cat and place it on a buttercup patch while you click the discover tool to find the robin to protect him.
I rented this game from here and then straight after playing it i went out and bought it.
Its a good game, i learnt a lot. Im pleased that the makers of the sims brought out this game, it makes the time between now and the release date for the sims 3 seem shorter.- Was this review helpful to you?
